25.01.2022 If you didn't catch this on Saturday night, take some time to watch our CEO, Tim Swan, share about his experience in Chile as a missionary with CMS NSW.

22.01.2022 For all who have given and prayed for Beirut, since the devastating explosion on 4 August, comes this video from Anglican Aid's partner, LSESD. Thank you.

21.01.2022 What an honour to celebrate NAIDOC week (it was postponed from July due to you-know-why) with our partner, Macarthur Indigenous Church, based in Sydney's southwest. Click the link below to watch a short video where pastor Michael Duckett helps explain the meaning behind this year's painting, depicting the NAIDOC 2020 theme: Always was, always will be. #NAIDOC2020 https://vimeo.com/474881171

21.01.2022 Jonglei State, South Sudan: flooding has left thousands of families in a dire situation after the banks of the Nile burst at the start of August. Entire communities are below water. Help Anglican Aid provide food, medicine, blankets and mosquito nets for families who have lost their homes and livelihoods. The assistance will be distributed through the local church, ensuring pastoral care is also given. https://anglicanaid.org.au//jonglei-floods-emergency-relief

20.01.2022 Fun fact: Uganda Christian University was voted the most beautiful Christian University in all of Africa! But much more important than a nice campus is a commitment to faithfulness to God’s Word, as emerging church leaders are trained and equipped for their future gospel ministry throughout Africa. To hear more about how you can sponsor a Bible College student to study at Uganda Christian University, head to https://anglicanaid.org.au/bcss (Photo credit: UCU's Facebook page)

20.01.2022 Making peace (in relationships / communities / nations / with God) often depends on the choices we make. Shout out to our partner Break the Cycle Glenquarie, working hard in its community to encourage good choices. #InternationalDayOfPeace #letgraceflow

18.01.2022 A season such as this Because of COVID-19, senior students at Kajo-Keji Christian College should have completed their studies in May 2020 but have been delayed. Four of the students have been supported in their study by Anglican Aid. The college trains Christians who have fled Kajo-Keji in South Sudan and now live as refugees in Uganda. 17.01.2022 In so many of the countries of Asia and Africa the church is exploding. Evangelism is going on and people are coming to know the Lord. Unfortunately, so many of those who take responsibility for being pastor-teachers have not themselves been taught. There is a lack of training. It’s not their fault, it’s simply that the church is expanding and someone needs to take that responsibility. - Peter Jensen, Theological Education Network Director for GAFCON We praise God for how h...e is growing his church! Anglican Aid's Bible College Student Sponsorships are helping provide faithful Bible teaching to future leaders, training them to faithfully shepherd God's church. Contact us today to be matched up with a student waiting to be sponsored towards their studies at a trusted Bible College in Africa, Asia, the Pacific, or South America. https://anglicanaid.org.au/bcss

14.01.2022 Anglican Aid has already sent support to help assist 260 families displaced by violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Yesterday Bishop Cyrille Kambale of Beni Diocese shared a recent update of the situation, where conflict and violence is emptying towns of their populations as victims flee to Beni. "10 people were killed today with several other people kidnapped and taken to the bush near Kokola, a town 35km from the city of Beni... civil society has just reported... the discovery of 29 bodies killed by these same ADF rebels in another nearby town... [yet another location] was attacked around 1am when the population was sleeping." "The number of displaced people increases every day here in the city of Beni where a precarious calm reigns. Meanwhile, the church as a father, as a unifier, continues to play its role in mobilizing its Christian members to contribute to help these displaced people who are housed with host families." Bishop Kambale has asked us to pray for peace, for protection and provision for displaced people, and for the Congolese church who are sharing their homes and resources with traumatised victims.

13.01.2022 A season such as this Because of COVID-19, schools in South Africa have just closed down again for the next month as infection rates show no sign of slowing. Many kids rely on the meal from school and are now going hungry. Support our partners at https://anglicanaid.org.au/covid-19-relief-appeal Intsika Community Development is providing food and sanitation help to families where social distancing is impossible - six people in a one-room dwelling.

13.01.2022 Meshack is a Tanzanian student sponsored by Anglican Aid to study at Uganda Christian University. Further theological studies will help him disciple others and offer godly solutions to moral issues affecting God’s people in Tanzania - so people won't turn to things like witchcraft. Meshack told us he’s most looking forward to sharpening his skills in Evangelism! Find out about how you can sponsor a student like Meshack at https://anglicanaid.org.au/bcss.

13.01.2022 Rev Samuel Majok is the assistant minister at Oakhurst Anglican Church in Sydney where he pastors a South Sudanese congregation. Anglican Aid has established an emergency appeal for the people of Jonglei State where the Nile has burst it banks for the first time since 1960. In 1960 people travelled to high ground and lived there for six months. Unfortunately devastation in remote areas of countries like South Sudan is not newsworthy. 12.01.2022 Sydneyanglicans.net is shining a light on the impact of COVID-19 in Africa. This article is about Madagascar: one of the 11 countries Anglican Aid is assisting through our COVID-19 emergency relief appeal: https://anglicanaid.org.au/covid-19-relief-appeal

11.01.2022 In the aftermath of the Beirut explosion, Anglican Aid's partner has been helping traumatised children deal with their distress. They've set up a playground to facilitate counselling through fun activities and games, and church youth leaders have sent out 15 days worth of 'Camp in a Box' to kids affected by the blast. 09.01.2022 "I think this new BCSS program is very exciting as there will be a personal link between the sponsors and the students as they study. That will mean prayer will go both ways as I know the students will pray for their sponsors just as the sponsors are praying for them". Helen Hoskins - Board Member, Bunda Bible College (pictured with Archbishop Glenn Davies in Bunda, Tanzania) https://www.anglicanaidbcss.com/

09.01.2022 We give thanks to God for the life and faithfulness of Greg Peisley and mourn his passing. Greg and Sue have been tirelessly committed to building Christ's kingdom in the Pitt Town area. Anglican Aid is privileged to have partnered with Greg and the church through Community Care. #ComeLordJesus

08.01.2022 As we know, divisions break down when we truly get to know each other, instead of settling for stereotypes and prejudice. Anglican Aid's partner, The Faisalabad School for Peace, promotes peace and harmony in Pakistan by creating a community where children of different religions come together to learn, to play and to grow. Tomorrow is International Day of Peace. Let's pray that people will know the peace that passes all understanding. #letgraceflow #strengthenchurches #transformcommunities

08.01.2022 Kampala - Uganda AmFuture held a worship night on 1 February attended by more than 100 young people. Frank, one of the young people who has been mentored through the program shared, "This year I was asked to plan, organise and lead this event. I wasn’t sure if I was ready to lead, but my mentors believed that I could, so I decided to put my trust in God and take up the new responsibility. On the night, everything was perfect! This experience taught me to choose faith over fear." #letgraceflow #strengthenchurches #transformcommunities This week we are celebrating good news stories from our partners because we can all do with more of those. #allthefeels

07.01.2022 Great news from our partner, Heading North, in Ethiopia. The Tere community where Heading North is working, has received a regional government award for promoting peace across the Amhara region (pop. 25 million), where tribal and religious conflict has been common. So much has happened since the first peace and reconciliation training in 2014. Peace training has been key to reducing vengeance killings. The mediation process has been strengthened. As a result, everyone benefits from increased water access, girls attending school in safety and care for the vulnerable. Praise God! #InternationalDayOfPeace #letgraceflow

06.01.2022 Our project partner Living Word Ministries has sent this short video to show Anglican Aid supporters a glimpse into their work in Zimbabwe. We partner with them to support the Heart of Mercy School: providing quality education to kids from rural areas, especially orphans and vulnerable children.

05.01.2022 Anglican Aid is sponsoring Mxoleleni to complete his Bachelor of Theology at George Whitefield College, South Africa. The false [prosperity] gospel is becoming popular in our rural areas our brothers and sisters are giving their hard earned money to the false gospel. My desire is to preach the truth of the Bible as God wants I can’t wait to study African Church history because this will be the context that I will be ministering to in the future. After finishing my studies ...I would like to go back to my rural area and pastor a church there. Please pray that this new Bible College Student Sponsorship program will be strengthening the church and transforming communities. Pray that we will be able to find sponsors for each student that has applied. https://anglicanaid.org.au/bcss/

05.01.2022 Tomorrow, the Diocese of Rorya, Tanzania, will farewell Bishop Dr. John Anyango Adiema, who passed away earlier this month after a short illness. The Anglican Aid family is praying for our good friend and Waterworks for a Thirsty World partner, Kelvin Obure John Adiema, as he and his family mourns the loss of father, grandfather, husband and church leader. #Polenisana #letgraceflow

05.01.2022 This is the kind of tent we'd like to fund for use in South Sudan, where severe flooding has displaced many thousands in Jonglei State. They cost around US$300 retail. Some features not mentioned in the brochure: shelter for a family, belongings and some animals, protection from insect-borne disease and some relief from the waterlogged world they have been living in for the past few weeks. Give now (if you can). https://anglicanaid.org.au//jonglei-floods-emergency-relief

04.01.2022 Here’s what the Rev Canon Dr Ashley Null of Alexandria School of Theology, Egypt has to say about the value of Bible College sponsorships. When you sponsor a student you are literally keeping the doors of AST open, because we can’t survive without sponsorships...The strength of the Diocese of Sydney has always been Moore Theological College, an institution clearly committed to raising up biblical expositors, generation on generation. That’s exactly what we hope AST will be ...for decades to come...As AST continues to strengthen as an institution of biblical faithfulness in Africa, led by Africans, it will have a great influence in shaping mainstream Anglicanism When people sponsor students, they are not only helping that student, they are also investing in an institution that will increasingly play an important role in shaping the Communion. Would you consider sponsoring a Bible College student together with your church or Bible study group? Please contact us for more information: https://www.anglicanaidbcss.com/

03.01.2022 Please read and pray. And give if you can. https://anglicanaid.org.au//jonglei-floods-emergency-relief

01.01.2022 A season such as this Because of COVID-19, Madagascar has gone back into lockdown as case numbers worsen. It has taken a very heavy toll and our partner, the Anglican Church of Madagascar, asks for your prayer. However in the midst of this difficult time, comes the encouraging news that the President of the University of Toamasina, in the country's east, allowed Christian services at the public University, speaking of his wish for students and staff to turn back to Christ. Support our partners through this difficult time at https://anglicanaid.org.au/covid-19-relief-appeal
