12.01.2022 Aquanatal is currently in discussions with pools to confirm a restart date for classes. At this point I am looking at an August date. This is due to restrictions still in place in regards to closure of change rooms, and number of people allowed in each pool/venue. I will post updates on this page and on my website. 12.01.2022 New research released today has revealed that 20 per cent of Australian women still don't receive mental health checks both before and after their baby is born.... Additionally, women who had reported emotional distress and older mothers were less likely to be screened both during and after pregnancy. Screening is still not yet universal, as recommenced by Australias National Clinical Practice Guidelines (COPE, 2017). And this must change. Ensuring women are screened both antenatally and following the birth of their babies, is something we're passionate about at COPE. Mental health issues are one of the most common complications of pregnancy. And maternal suicide remains the leading cause of death in Australian mothers. As this research highlights, we must keep working to protect the emotional and mental wellbeing of our mums. We at COPE are proud to be part of this change.
