24.01.2022 Were boldly asking Australia to step up and meet these challenges: Who will you reconnect with today? Tomorrow? And the next? Who will you reach out to tod...ay? Tomorrow? And the next? And who will you assure that theres no shame in asking for help on any day they say no? Find tips to get the conversation started at www.ruok.org.au

22.01.2022 One reason people often have a hard time falling asleep is that they are worried about the consequences of not being able to sleep, or worried about things that... have happened during the day and turning those things over and over in their mind (also known as rumination). The good news is, there are very effective cognitive strategies that can be used to address these thoughts. These involve challenging whether these thoughts are realistic, evaluating the evidence to support them, and then testing them. For example, with the thought If I dont get 8 hours of sleep Ill feel terrible, it would be helpful to think back to a time where you got less than 8 hours of sleep and felt okay. This would be good evidence to suggest that your worries might not be true. If you would like to learn more about skills to challenge your thoughts, speak to a Psychologist about Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for insomnia, or your GP may also be able to assist. #Sleepawarenessweek *Image by David Castillo Dominici

13.01.2022 Social anxiety is often interpreted as being introverted or shy. But while its perfectly normal to feel anxious in social situations, social anxiety is much mo...re than this. 1 in 10 people in Australia experience social anxiety every day. They have an intense fear of being judged, laughed at or humiliated in front of others even in ordinary situations such as eating in public, speaking up in a meeting or making small talk. The good news is that there are a range of treatments to help tackle the uncontrollable and often debilitating phobia. Its important to find what works best for you. Get to #knowanxiety and the treatment and support available at bb.org.au/1IrMfNt
