13.01.2022 We are excited to reveal that this years judging panel for The Fauvette Loureiro Memorial Scholarship is Clothilde Bullen, Sarah Contos and Andrew Lavery. Clothilde Bullen, a Wardandi (Nyoongar)/Yamatji woman, is Curator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander exhibitions and collections at Museum of Contemporary Art Australia She was previously Curator of Indigenous art at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth, where she worked for over a decade. Artist Sarah Contos ...layers and manipulates sourced objects, personal artefacts and vestiges of popular culture, drawing attention to the emotional and theatrical relationships between imagery, form and materiality. Represented by Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery and STATION Gallery, Sarah was the inaugural recipient of The Ramsay Art Prize and her work is held in institutional collections across the country. Andrew Lavery is the Director and Chair of Sydney College of the Arts, a master glassblower who has evolved as a contemporary artist. Andrews artistic practice began at Monash University, Melbourne and has since taken him abroad to Italy and the USA. His recent installations combine glass and other media to explore the spatial politics of urban ruin, as a means for unmasking the mediated reality and linear history of modernity. 1.
