24.01.2022 Some of our younger patients had the most fun in a recent ArtEx workshop, making their own creations using Bio Dough it was the perfect material to keep little hands busy while on the ward!

24.01.2022 Stuck for present ideas this Christmas? Well, this one is tote-ally amazing and designed by one of our very talented patient’s Carys during her hospital art ses...sion. Modelled here by Vincent, who tells us there are also a special selection of tea towels and Christmas cards created by our patients and those of The Children's Hospital at Westmead and Bear Cottage too! Gifts are all available to buy from Sunny’s Cafe or online, so it couldn’t be easier to tick of that Christmas list while also making a real difference to kids like Vincent, Carys and the more than 150,000 children cared for by our network of specialist paediatric services. 18.01.2022 We have been super busy over the last 2 weeks installing the Summer Art Exhibitions and we have finally finished! With displays from Illustrator Vanessa Wright, Eggpicnic, La Source Australia, Livewire (Starlight Children's Foundation Australia), works from our patients and the return of our staff art competition, Hospital's Got Talent! - there is plenty for families and staff to see while they are here over the festive season! Thank you to all of our participating artists for their support in transforming the Hospital :) <3

18.01.2022 In celebration of NAIDOC week, patients joined our Art Experience workshops to explore Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples rich culture of Art and st...orytelling. They then painted their own Tapping sticks and boomerangs. As the kids found out, Tapping or Clapping sticks are a traditional Aboriginal instrument used during ceremonies and songs. They're often decorated with special meanings behind the symbols used and they can be digging sticks too, making them particularly useful! #NAIDOC2020

16.01.2022 We have been continuing our workshops at the bedside with a focus on sensory play @PhilipAspden has created a vibrant group of characters called the ‘Bushys’ who take a journey all through the Hospital at night looking for a creature that they believe wander the wards, protecting and looking after all the children! They never seem to find this wonderful, caring creature, but they believe it exists. Surely it must! Kids used @biodough and other materials to create their own Bushy! Music Matt joined us too - drumming as we created!

08.01.2022 We're really excited for this exhibition! If you're a staff member with an artistic talent - send us an email! And if you're a patient family and you know a staff member is also a talented artist, encourage them to participate
