25.01.2022 Advice from the Australian Nanny Association: Australia has announced further restrictions on activities nation-wide to attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19. The Government has instructed everyone to stay home as much as possible and to stop travel both locally and beyond unless it is essential. At this stage, travelling to workplaces when necessary and to access essential services (such as supermarkets and pharmacies) is still allowed. At this stage schools are still open ...as usual (with the exception of Victoria - whose school holidays will begin tomorrow, and the ACT - who are moving to online learning as of tomorrow) but the NSW Premier has urged people to keep children home for distance learning provided by their school if they are able to do so. The Australian Nanny Association reminds everyone to avoid social contact wherever possible. This includes group gatherings, play dates, and regular extracurricular activities. At the moment we are still able to go outside, but outside activities should be considered carefully. Going for a walk in the neighbourhood is a much safer option than going to a public playground. Remember to observe the rules of social distancing and support children to do the same. Please keep communication open and consider the potential risks of working with more than one family.
