25.01.2022 Loved this day in 2016 with @throga_vocalcoach when we had the wonderful, and epically talented Richard Fink (check out his Guinness Book of World Records video, smashing his own record for the worlds longest held note!) present to students and teachers about the Throga method. Thanks for the supportive throwback Richard! Cant wait to see you back in Sydney!

21.01.2022 Hello Studio Fam - weve updated our Covid-19 info available on our website. This info, as you all know, forms a condition of one-one lessons in-studio. Group classes will remain online - likely til the end of 2020 at this stage. As community cases are being reported by NSW health, wed like to take a proactive precautionary approach by modifying some of our teaching practices for now and to invite singers to opt for online lessons where convenient, over the next 2 weeks. In... a nutshell: If unwell or Unsure, well run your lesson online. Our distance markers are 2-2.5m apart between singers and teachers. Please adhere. We can do spirit hugs from afar! Warm-up before your lesson outside, or around the foyer/hallway spaces away from others so that your lesson can primarily focus on technical adjustments and song work (more fun!). Well be avoiding straw phonation, lip/tongue trills during lessons. Our sessions may focus on theory and musicianship a little more over the next 2-3 weeks, and less on practical singing. If youre a belter, well also be asking you to sing outside (good for your confidence building anyway!). All teaching rooms are now limited to 2 people only. Well be teaching with the building doors open so please rug up for warmth. We wont be sharing for now. Please bring your own water bottle, mic, pop filter, folders and pens if required. For vocalists who feel like exploring a different language, try searching up the lyrics to one of these songs and translate them in English to catch a deeper glimpse into both the song and the vocal colours used. These playlists... are great for critical listening, developing your aural skills and - attempting a different language allows you to explore placement and articulation in a completely new way. 13.01.2022 While in lockdown, we received a wonderful gift from a dear esteemed colleague and member of our teaching community here in Sydney, Mrs Cathy Aggett - who so kindly donated an entire resource library of music books and repertoire for us to use and share with our teachers and students. We couldnt be happier to receive this incredible donation to the studio, and would like to sincerely thank Cathy for thinking of us and our students as a new home for this collection! Well be organizing the library and will have a borrowing system in place at some stage (perhaps once its safe to share books and equipment again), but for now, we wanted to share with you all this lovely gift and to say our sincere thank you . 13.01.2022 Were so pleased to advise our singers and families that our studio will be re-opening Monday, June 15th for One-One lessons. You may opt to have your lesson in-studio, or remain online if preferred. If you experience any symptoms, well keep your lesson online. All classes (Juniors, Singing Bees, Singing Birds & Glee Club) remain online for now, due to our current timetable and music room spaces however we are hoping to have classes recommence in studio once we re-configure ...our spaces around and determine maximum class numbers allowable within our larger performance space/waiting area. We thank our families for your patience while we adjust our spaces according to government health guidelines and requirements. 13.01.2022 One of the perks of being a singing parent... is getting the little one to sleep in a calm and peaceful way. Some trivia for our parents...hearing develops in utero, and babies can hear as early as 18 weeks into pregnancy. The sound of mums voice (and dad too!) is so familiar, that continuing this thread of vocal connection in infanthood helps to establish strong bonds with our children. Parents sing pretty naturally - without being aware, the way we calmly coo to babies ...and toddlers is a little like singing. If you extend this to nursery rhymes and peaceful songs, its a lovely way to spend with your little ones - and one theyll always remember. Sing to, and with, your kids @ home! After having to go into lockdown and online learning, it will be good to have a modified mini-performance set up for our students today and bring some wings to songs theyve all worked so hard on over the last 12 months! . 08.01.2022 Hello Singers and Fambams! A little update! We miss you all! ZOOM:... Please remember to UPDATE your ZOOM software (see our website for the correct download link) to avoid lesson interruptions from May 30, as ZOOM are currently rolling out stronger encryption and privacy measures throughout their platform. WERE STILL ONLINE...FOR NOW: As NSW School students prepare to go back to school full time next week, we kindly wish to advise our singing community that we are at this current stage (21/05/20) required to remain closed, and all singing lessons will continue to be delivered ONLINE as we comply with public health orders in which our studio fall under. I know its a little longer! But weve all done a HUGE and wonderful job by Singing @ Home during the Covid Period! Once restrictions for extra-curricular and community/cultural/music hall venues like ours are lifted...oh you will know! #party! 05.01.2022 Our studio is open through the SCHOOL HOLIDAYS! A Perfect time to get a string of lessons in to dive deep into musical training, or to book a studio visit or trial one of our online classes! . Our School Holiday programs are on pause due to Covid restrictions, but instead, were opening times for young singers to try a lesson in-studio or join any of our classes online - these will be running all through the week for kids 5-16yrs. . For our current singers, if youre catc...hing a break, just let your teacher know, no biggie at all. Its so nice to have this continuity - for both the learning of our students (especially after so much Zoom singing!) - but also for us as teachers . Covid-19 Update: Our Covid Safe procedures for students and visitors is available on our website and we welcome all of our community to have a read of these, much of which youll all have heard before - Wash hands before lessons, remain distanced during lessons, and if unwell, well switch your session online.
