17.01.2022 INTRODUCING SHM WEEKLY STRENGTH: WORKOUT #1! Now the text below will be jargon to most of you so skip over it, but do keep in mind that SHM weekly strength will require a little of you too. And I’m not talking about the moving and shaking. Those of you familiar know that my exercises don't come with traditional names like "Bicep curl" or "Shoulder press". The exercises I prescribe are more functional in nature, more about how you move than the muscles you’re training.... So, if you want to take part in this program, (and I highly recommend you do!) it would be helpful for you to start to learn the language. Which personally I think is more part of the fun than it should be a barrier. It's also worth mentioning this program is suited to those familiar and relatively practiced with the KLT strength training process. You'll know who you are, but don't think that just because the movements look unfamiliar to you that you won't be able to participate. It's easy to learn and movements can easily be modified to your level. If you're interested but unsure, just get in touch! I’ve shared the written form of my first program below, but for now, set the jargon aside, watch the video and get motivated to move!! TO START: Hip flexor stretch: 1min each side 8x parallel squat + opening arc L-H/no load 12x weight-shifting squats WORKOUT 3, 6, 9 REPETITIONS OF: parallel squat + mid hold/dumbbells posterior pull (x-over) single arm/mid bands + weight-shifting squat (mid-heavy resistance) parallel squat + mid hold/dumbbells closing arc m>m (x-over) single arm + weight-shifting squat (light resistance) THEN 12 (EACH SIDE) OF: parallel squat + mid hold/dumbbells weight-shifting squat + mid hold/dumbbells parallel squat + posterior pull alternating/mid bands (mid-heavy resistance)

Bojan and I are pretty passionate about movement for good health! Are you seeing a silver lining amongst the frustration, boredom, stress? Whilst lockdown has had an extraordinary financial impact on most all of us, it has also forced us to lead a more simple life. We’re spending more time with our families, we might be more physically active, cooking more, taking more time to prepare and enjoy our food and hopefully we’re taking opportunities to smell the roses. Having a 3yo definitely helps with that, it took Lewis & I a good 90 minutes just to walk around the block yesterday afternoon! So I thought I'd ask, have you been reminded of what’s truly important to you throughout this time? What will you take with you from your lockdown life, into the future???
