24.01.2022 At the Sympact office, we have a mix of Apple and Android users. However even the token Apple fanboy in the office thinks this is a bit rough: "If the phone is damaged and a non-Apple repairer replaces the button, a subsequent update of the operating system detects a non-standard component and shuts down the device. There is no known way of bringing it back to life." Whilst we get the security issue, the fact that there is no redemption is just bad policy.

There is also some speculation that this isnt from the 2012 hack, and rather from a new breach. So, change all your passwords to your services that are of value to you just to be sure.
