21.01.2022 As per your requests I have just added a new 5 week course in hand building! This 5 week intensive course with Syndicate Creative is designed for beginners. The sessions for this course will be each Wednesday from 10am-12pm over 5 weeks, From 9th September-7th October. In this course students will learn a multitude of hand building pottery techniques, glazing techniques, learn in detail about ceramic theory, glazes and clay! In this course students will learn a multitude of hand building pottery techniques, glazing techniques, learn in detail about ceramic theory, glazes and clay. 11.01.2022 I have made a decision about not putting my energy into competing with other pottery places and their undercut prices so I will be adding less classes for a while. My classes arent getting many bookings while (I wont name names) other places are going fine. They have stolen my ideas and my energy which come from a really personal place. I started this business 3 years ago after losing 4 people very close to me and it was my saving grace. People have told me to take copying ...as a compliment or to not speak about it on social media but I cannot keep quiet anymore as my business is now suffering tremendously. I also have never been the type to keep quiet about injustice. In school I was so tiny but I would stand up to bullies on behalf of other kids and now its time to stand up for myself. They stole my ideas and its not okay. They stole everything. They followed me on Instagram when they just had one wheel in a shed and werent even a business yet, they watched me and then they used their money to get ahead instead of being original and working hard. I have no respect for this. I come from a very poor family and I have had to work my ass off to even get this far. I have dealt with migraines, anxiety and digestion issues from working so hard and Im so very close to giving up, especially now that we have this pandemic and I am working so hard just to keep my head above water. I have wanted to make this post for such a long time but I have restrained myself for want of not looking dramatic or unprofessional. But you know what? Im a human and I have feelings. Im not a computer. Im a one woman show who just turned 30 and decided to look at my life and figure out whats working and whats not working. I need to be real or Ill lose my sense of why I started this business in the first place.... to create a space without judgement or fear, to hold space for the therapeutic energy of clay, to create a place in where everything is within your control and yet completely out of your control and feeling at peace with that. Because that is what life is. I hope this rant doesnt upset anyone. I just really needed to speak my truth Thank you to my beautiful students See more
