25.01.2022 No gym equipment? No worries! Here are some great ideas! What else can you think of to use? A chair makes an excellent dip stand. A simple set of stairs are great for step ups, elevated push ups, divebomb push ups or dips. A strong bag with some books or bricks in it can be used for rows, deadlifts etc.

25.01.2022 Exercise really is for everyone. And if you aren't sure where to start - see a trained expert such as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.

24.01.2022 Great news, we have re-opened and returned to normal hours of operation. While we have put into place extra hygiene and cleaning precautions, we need you to play your part too. If you have any cold or flu like symptoms such as a dry cough, sore throat, fever, headache, sudden loss of sense of smell or if you have been in contact with someone who has or is suspected as having COVID-19 or if you have visited a high risk area, we need you to postpone your appointment for at least 14 days. We thank you for your support over the last couple of months and we look forward to seeing all our current clients and welcoming new ones.

23.01.2022 Excellent story about the benefits of exercise for those with a cancer diagnosis or for cancer survivors.

20.01.2022 Exercise - good for your body, good for your brain, good for you!

20.01.2022 Exercise Physiologists have a vital role to play in the management of a wide range of conditions. https://exerciseright.com.au/reasons-your-doctor-should-r/

16.01.2022 Great news! We now are offering our clients the ability to book remedial massage on on line! I have added a "book now" button or you can go through the portal here: https://my.powerdiary.com//b9cf85f7-e0f7-4f00-9437-c0caa84 Let us know what you think of the new system - do you like it? Is it easy to use? Did you have any problems?

12.01.2022 I posted this also on my private page, but I think it's worth posting here too. Please note it does have a couple of bleeped-out expletives! While this article relates to running and more specifically women's running, I believe it is much more widely applicable. As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, I applaud the messages here. For too long, exercise has been seen primarily as the way to get that "perfect" body, whatever that is. And if you don't achieve the perfect body y...ou are a Failure. I got to thinking that we think of exercise more in terms of Form (I'm using Form here to describe appearance or anatomy) rather than Function. The focus of exercise has been on the wrong "F" words - Form and Failure. But as an AEP we learn that exercise is so much more - Function definitely, but also Feeling, Focus, Fitness, Future, Fulfilment and even Fun. I think these are much better words! Don't you agree? 10.01.2022 Have you ever thought about the science of exercise? What happens in your body? This simple infographic gives a really good overview. It comes from a really cool chemistry FB site called Compound Interest. Yes, chemistry can be cool!

09.01.2022 Great news! All appointments will go ahead as scheduled today. The river levels have dropped enough for Rodney to get back from the farm.

06.01.2022 A really good article (written by an Exercise Physiologist) about things you might have heard about fitness that need looking at from a different perspective. I particularly like the section on motivation, or more specifically that motivation is not all it’s cracked up to be. https://www.blackmores.com.au//4-things-you-need-to-unlear

03.01.2022 A lot of people talk about the importance of motivation to make changes to their life, such as starting to or increasing the amount of exercise they do. Motivation is important sure, and certain types of motivation are more persistent than others. But don't overlook the importance of developing a routine, where exercise is just something that you do as part of your day*. *I would like to stress that if you are sick or particularly stressed, then a day or two where you have a break from routine is probably a good thing. As long as you get back to it as soon as you can. Think of a routine as a template rather than something you slavishly adhere to. https://hw.qld.gov.au//motivation-versus-routine-which-i/

01.01.2022 Unfortunately, Rodney is stranded out at the farm due to flooding of the Towrang Bridge. All massage appointments for tomorrow (Monday 10th) have been postponed. Apologies to everyone affected. Training sessions with Lori will go ahead as normal tomorrow as she is safe and sound in Goulburn! Hopefully we will be back to normal on Tuesday. I'll keep you updated.

01.01.2022 What more can I say? Movement is Medicine!
