24.01.2022 Even if you’re not enrolled to vote in Mermaid Beach, please share my campaign. The Oceanway is for all Gold Coasters - and tourists

21.01.2022 While council is entitled to take some credit for eventually approving the Tugun to Bilinga (T2B) section of the Oceanway, you will notice the names and faces of people that continually pop up in the posts below showing our efforts to get this project done. One of these is Gloria Baker who is running for Division 14 councillor in the upcoming election on 28th March . On FACEBOOK.......GLORIA BAKER for Division14 Gold COAST. For years before council changed its position from... outright opposition to eventual approval of the T2B Oceanway project, in the face of massive popular & community support, Gloria was on the front line pushing initially to keep the land in public hands, and then get the path built. In the face of many frustrations and even personal abuse, Gloria stuck to her guns with the support of the overwhelming majority of her community. While some in council may want to now take credit for the T2B Oceanway, it should be remembered that due to the tireless and selfless work of people like Gloria council couldn't hold back the tide any longer and had to change their position to one of acceptance. And what an incredible community asset we now have in Division 14. See more

21.01.2022 Our new Oceanway has proved to be overwhelmingly popular at all times of the day and we need to provide safety and security for the early morning and late evening users. Hoping the new promised lighting will give us that safety and security.

20.01.2022 Hopefully this may get the Oceanway, all the Way!

18.01.2022 Wonderful news for our northern neighbours and congrats to Mona Hecke and team .

17.01.2022 Welcome and thank you to Coomera friends for sharing your appreciation of our Tugun2Bilinga Oceanway in todays GCB. And yes we too support the Oceanway all the Way .

12.01.2022 Here is a case of LIFE IMITATING ART IMITATING POLITICS, and in particular the BATTLE for the Oceanway. Please enjoy this image from the 2006 Gold Coast Monopol...y Men artwork series by Susan Simonini and listen to the short audio recording of Mayor Tom Tate’s comments about the Oceanway on ABC Coast FM last week. You may have noticed that we paused petitioning in April. That’s because correspondence provided to several residents by Cr Paul Taylor gave the impression that the council is advancing plans and design for missing sections of the Oceanway at Main Beach, Surfers South, Tallebudgera and Currumbin. But the 2019/20 budget has been announced now, and it does not include any funds for this project, so we will shortly recommence petitioning. The section between Nobby’s and Surfers still could be completed in the next financial year with some swift action and a $5-$6 million allocation at the mid-year budget review in December. Failing that, we will gear up in the New Year to promote election of candidates who will support the Oceanway. But we really would prefer to avoid the need for a battle on this issue. It’s a no-brainer. It should have been resolved long ago. Please like and comment on our page, share this with your friends, and take any opportunity to let the mayor and councillors know if you want them to complete the Oceanway too.

12.01.2022 Very well put Mona Hecke......we support your push to complete the Oceanway link from Surfers Paradise to Nobbys.

12.01.2022 Can you show your support for our northern neighbours and their quest to get the Oceanway completed in Surfers - Nobbys?

08.01.2022 Planning is currently underway for a section of the Palm Beach Oceanway! http://www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/tallebudgera-drive-to-twent

05.01.2022 Just like the 36km Gold Coast Oceanway is only about 75% complete, so is the 80km Sydney coastal walk really only 60km. Nevertheless, both are fantastic civic e...ndeavours and we remain hopeful to see the visions fulfilled rather than later. It’s disappointing that our council couldn’t find $5-6m in its $1.5 billion budget for the 4.2km critical missing link between Nobbys to Surfers. If you want this to happen, please be mindful when you get a chance to vote at the next election in March 2020, that we’ll need a Mayor and Councillors in Divisions 10 and 12, who pledge to advocate for this in the next term See more

04.01.2022 Oceanway all the way........

02.01.2022 Deja vu ! The same scenario with our Tugun2Bilinga Oceanway......it's not about the money but the political will to make it happen. And our petition of 8888 signatures could not be ignored. If you can spare some time to help with this Oceanway 2020 petition please leave your details in our comments section.

02.01.2022 Palm Beach Oceanway Update #CrDaphMcDonald The preferred concept alignment plan for the Palm Beach Oceanway has been completed. The State Government is very ...supportive of this project and providing funding for half the costs of the concept plan. The design is to be completed in February 2020 and funding is in the 4 year Capital Works and will be considered in the next Budget (2020-21) for construction. As part of the works, seating and tree planting will also be undertaken.

02.01.2022 Good on you Tory Jones! We support Oceanway All the Way!
