21.01.2022 Lets make the new normal include Table Tennis in the Workplace! Here is a clip of Paul playing Andrew - its fun and friendly and exactly what we hope to see more of in the future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGWtamAuGBw... Here are some reasons as to why it is good for the workplace (credit - https://www.linkedin.com//10-reasons-why-you-need-table-te) Here are 10 reasons why every office and place of work should have a table and encourage staff to play even for 10 mins: 1. Its inclusive. People of all ages - whether you are 5, 95 and everywhere in between. All fitness levels can play, its universally fun and most people have played it at some point. 2. Whipping your boss or senior colleagues at it will feel good, will get you noticed, youll earn the respect of your fellow colleagues and a little competitive spirit is great for morale. 3.It will take your mind off everything else and as a result youll experience mindfulness without even trying. Thats quite zen. 4.Great way to vent frustration without resorting to turning the air blue or losing the rag with a client or colleague. Take it out on the table and your opponent. 5.Its easy on your joints, knees and back and easy on your attire - no need really for hi tech kit to join in. 6.It works; its often called "high speed chess" and is used by elite athletes to improve hand to eye co-ordination, reflexes and fast decision making. 7.It provides social, physical and recreational interaction away from your desk and the pub. 8. Play stimulates the aerobic respiratory system and brain function with minimum exertion. Effortless play is mesmerising to watch and do. 9.Youll meet interesting people. Ive met some great characters through playing table tennis at work, on holiday and in local clubs. Ive met and played Keanu Reeves, The Prodigy, Kylie and many other musicians and actors. 10.Its a top laugh, youll feel refreshed, motivated and really good afterwards - a great way of being stress free and ultimately youll feel brilliant at work which can only be better for productivity, creativity and a happy workplace all round? #ttw #tabletennisworld #pingpong #workplace #feelgood #newnormal

20.01.2022 I am just going to take it back to 1982 tonight, where the fashion is cool, Paul Pinkewich had long flowing locks and groovy glasses, and a match went to 21. #tabletennis #tabletennisworld #ttw #oldskool #heisalegend #exhibitionsport Credit - MSTT... 1982 Commonwealth Games held in Brisbane/Australia had Table Tennis played as an exhibition sport. Australia was represented by Bob Tuckett, Paul Pinkewich and Denise Millikan and played against Hong Kong. 19.01.2022 Table tennis, also called (trademark) Ping-Pong, ball game similar in principle to lawn tennis and played on a flat table divided into two equal courts by a net fixed across its width at the middle. The object is to hit the ball so that it goes over the net and bounces on the opponents half of the table in such a way that the opponent cannot reach it or return it correctly. The lightweight hollow ball is propelled back and forth across the net by small rackets (bats, or paddles) held by the players. The game is popular all over the world. In most countries it is very highly organized as a competitive sport, especially in Europe and Asia, particularly in China and Japan. Please go to the following link to download a Report regarding our successful return to spo...rt last weekend, however with the current outbreaks in NSW we must all be extremely vigilant. Sports House where our office is located has been shut down today due to one person undertaking a precautionary COVID test. Results will be available by lunchtime Tuesday but it highlights to us that the precautions we are taking for our return to sport are a necessary evil. https://www.ttnsw.org.au/news/return-to-sports-halls-report/

11.01.2022 NSW Corporate Games - October 2020 HURRY - ONE MONTH LEFT! One month to go before entries close into the 2020 NSW Corporate Games.... Although weve heard from a few companies who are sitting 2020 out, several organisations see the Games as an opportunity to bring the office together in a controlled COVID Safe environment for the first time in over six months. We are therefore progressing full steam ahead. Our COVID Safety Plan is currently with all of the venues, who not surprisingly have COVID Safe practices of their own. Key to the Games and all venues, is completing the attendance register on arrival, adhering to the revised venue capacity at all times to allow physical distancing and maintaining good hand hygiene. Whilst Sydney is currently doing exceptionally well at keeping the virus in check, if the situation does worsen please remember, the NSW Corporate Games will provide a full 100% refund of all entry fees if the Games are cancelled due to COVID-19. This also includes any sport that is cancelled due to insufficient numbers. For detailed sport information head to the Event, Venues & Fees page on the website. If you would like more information on this have any questions, please feel free to contact the NSW Corporate Games team on [email protected]. 07.01.2022 History The game was invented in England in the early days of the 20th century and was originally called Ping-Pong, a trade name. The name table tennis was adopted in 192122 when the old Ping-Pong Association formed in 1902 was revived. The original association had broken up about 1905, though apparently the game continued to be played in parts of England outside London and by the 1920s was being played in many countries. Led by representatives of Germany, Hungary, and Engla...nd, the Fdration Internationale de Tennis de Table (International Table Tennis Federation) was founded in 1926, the founding members being England, Sweden, Hungary, India, Denmark, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Austria, and Wales. By the mid-1990s more than 165 national associations were members. The first world championships were held in London in 1926, and from then until 1939 the game was dominated by players from central Europe, the mens team event being won nine times by Hungary and twice by Czechoslovakia. In the mid-1950s Asia emerged as a breeding ground of champions, and from that time the mens team event has been won by either Japan or China, as has the womens event, though to a lesser extent; North Korea also became an international force. In 1980 the first World Cup was held, and Guo Yuehua of China won the $12,500 first prize. Table tennis became an Olympic sport in 1988, with singles and doubles competition for men and women.
