20.01.2022 It's National Nutrition Week - this years focus is on increasing Australian's vegetable intake, with only 5% of children and 7% of adults meeting the recommended daily intake of vegetables. There are so many healthy eating learning experiences educators and families can use to encourage children to eat more vegetables. 'Eat the rainbow' is great for trying new veggies in a fun and relaxed way. Centre fact - We have at least 7 types of fresh fruits on our morning tea platters and we regularly have grated and sliced vegetable platters.

17.01.2022 Children’s Week is a national celebration of children’s rights, talents and citizenship held on the fourth Wednesday of October in Australia to coincide with Universal Children’s Day. Each year the theme of Children’s Week highlights a particular Children’s Right. The Theme for 2020 is Article 15 ‘Children have the right to meet together and to join groups and organisations, as long as this does not stop other people from enjoying their rights. Children’s Week 2020 is a wonderful opportunity to promote the rights of children and young people, and to celebrate their capacity to actively contribute to the world around them.
