12.01.2022 Celebrating the completion of the Bowraville delivery of the first completion of 51 ‘Roads To Home Project’ a community empowering program which improves infras...tructure on Missions and Reserves across NSW is being delivered by The Department of Planning Industry and Environment, and locally in conjunction with TAFE NSW, The Bowraville Local Aboriginal Land Council and AJ Civil Construction. With the TAFE NSW Aboriginal Engagement Teams who are coordinating the customised training delivery to ensure local community training needs are met. The successful Civil Construction skillset which included Excavation & Roller Operations has led to the full cohort being employed by AJ Civil Construction until the completion of the Bowraville Project..... 01.01.2022 TAFE NSW Western Sydney Region in partnership with Kimberwalli are offering an Aboriginal Cultural Arts Program (CSO5555-V01). This program will involve exploring cultural identity (different Mobs and their different arts/practices); artefacts and tool identification; exploring creative arts processes; introduction to weaving and finally creating art on a canvas that will be showcased in Western Sydney. Participants will receive a small sketching kit, weaving kit and small c...anvas to create their own art. This program is targeted at Aboriginal Community members, Job seekers & 17+ year olds that are no longer attending school, who have an interest or passion in art The program will run over a 3 week period (every Tuesday & Wednesday) at Kimberwalli (1 Mimika Avenue, Whalan) from 9:30am-2pm The program will start next Tuesday 24th November, 2020 There are still places available, register your interest at the link. https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx
