19.01.2022 Happy Diwali to those celebrating in our community! Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a five-day celebration marking the beginning of the Hindu New Year. In Hindu, Sikh, and Jain cultures, the festival represents new beginnings, prosperity, and the triumph of light over darkness, so celebrations often include fireworks and vibrant light shows.

10.01.2022 Today we're proud to acknowledge two incredible award wins at the 2020 Australian Training Awards. Our congratulations go out to Deb Blow (a current Director of Faculty for Community Services, Health and Nursing and the Executive Leader Health and Nursing at TAFE Queensland), and our very own CEO Mary Campbell. Among the most prestigious awards of the night, their wins reflect their immense dedication and commitment to vocational education and training and we could not be p...rouder. We'd also like to take a moment to recognise our two student finalists, Ngaire Trigg (Vocational Student of the Year) and Jabin Giblett (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year), as well as our partner Rheinmetall Defence Australia (Industry Collaboration Award finalist). 09.01.2022 An ability to listen and an interest in helping others saw Jamie Alexander swap her award-winning nail technician career to become a student and study towards a career in child protection. Through studying [my diploma] I have the best possible foundation of knowledge and personal resilience to go into the community and and work with young people and their families. 07.01.2022 International Men's Day shines the light on men's health and well being, and celebrates the positive value men bring to the world, their families and communities. Men's health and wellness statistics are often alarming, and even given the challenges of 2020, it is more important to support each other than ever before. Combining their TradeMutt shirts, starting conversations around mental health, with fundraising for Movember Australia, we wanted to give a shout out to and thank these trades teachers at our Alexandra Hills campus for their commitment to supporting men and encouraging healthier lives and futures. If you're participating in Movember too, drop your fundraising link and a cheeky 'stache photo in the comments below.
05.01.2022 For Trudy Bellamy overcoming a long health battle led to a whole new career path in beauty and starting her own home salon called Flutter into Beauty, inspired by her Aboriginal heritage. "I am a Tweed Heads girl, Bundjalung, I was given a totem of a butterfly from an Elder. I have incorporated this into the name of my business in the word Flutter and in the symbol of a butterfly on my logo." This is her story: https://bit.ly/3lePDr4... #NAIDOC2020
