03.01.2022 Tai Chi Health Club UPDATE Hi everyone, I hope all students are well and weathering the storm during this trying time. GOOD NEWS. Classes re-commenced at the Lake Cathie Community Hall on Wednesday 24th June at 9.30 am and at our new venue Bonny Hills Community Hall on Thursday 25th June, at 9.30 am. It was good to see our students again and their happy smiling faces. We have at least made a start. I would encourage all students to c...onsider returning on those days and join us, as the therapeutic benefits of Tai Chi still remain, and will still be around long after this virus passes. As advised, stringent covid 19 procedures are in place at our classes. These measures have been set by and approved by the government and will be strictly adhered to ensure the safety of all students. However, most students would be aware that the situation concerning the registered Clubs such as North Haven Bowling and Lake Cathie Bowling Clubs have basically remained the same. Which means that we may not get back to holding classes in them for some time. Consequently the above arrangements at the Halls will remain until further notice. In my last circular to you, it was mentioned that administrative costs have risen. This came about by the council advising me that they were raising the cost of the hall hire again. This was despite having only done so not so long ago and in the middle of the pandemic. This forced me to make the decision to raise fees. I have again appealed to the council in a written letter, on the grounds that the Federal Government has specifically stated that all landlords are encouraged to assist their tenants to keep going. I consider that my submission has a strong case and it was unfair not to assist loyal tenants, let alone bringing in another fee increase at this time. I have previously advised that fees will be increasing to $12 and having spoken to a number of students as to how this will affect them, I have now rescinded that, and fees will remain at the old price of $10. I have always felt that my fees should reflect what our students can afford and I haven't changed that view. Hence my decision, and this will remain the case, despite the outcome of what the Council decides on the increase of my fees. All students would know that I am passionate about the benefits that Tai Chi brings to the community, and in the current environment it is even more important that we should all have regular social contact and be physically active. You may have seen our new advertisement in the current North Haven Courier Newspaper. This has resulted in a number of inquiries and a new person starting. I look forward to seeing you all soon at class, in our safe environment. Keep doing your Tai Chi and more importantly, KEEP SAFE. Master Darryl
