01.01.2022 #INSPO | She has dedicated the past two decades to grassroots rugby in and around the Pine Rivers shire filling multiple roles (often at the same time) for the Pine Rivers Boars Rugby Union, Albany Creek Brumbies GPS A Junior Rugby Club Pine Rivers Pumas, Wests Bulldogs Rugby Union Club and of course her beloved Taiwhanake. From club committee member, to player, manager, coach, fundraiser, taxi-driver and "encourager" #fobmumsbelike Whaea Rosie is one of the quiet, unsung,... local SHEroes of the code who lets actions on the field do the talking. This year she dusted off her boots to join the newly formed North Lakes Women's team. As the most "senior" player of the team, Whaea Rosie continues to lead by example as a workhorse in the forward pack, dominating rucks, clean outs and always gaining precious metres across the advantage line. When asked why she decided to return to play, she said that she wanted to be an example for her Taiwhanake girls to show them that size and shape is not a barrier to success, attitude is. How awesome is that? When we were short coaches for the up & coming Summer Sevens, Whaea Rosie stepped up so our kids don't miss out. Whaea Rosie welomes girls born 2008/9 to join her Taiwhanake U12 Girls squad for Summer Sevens! Emphasis is on fun & friendship with some skill & fitness thrown in for good measure. Beginners welcome! To join our TDUB TWELIVIES, hit the link below! See you on the paddock! #KidsFirstAlways https://form.jotform.com/202387633914863
