25.01.2022 From today, Victorian and New South Wales NDIS participants who rely on face-to-face supports and assistance with their daily living will be able to claim the c...ost of personal protective equipment (PPE), including masks. These changes apply where coronavirus (COVID-19) is active in your community, and the use of PPE is consistent with current health advice. NDIS participants in Victoria and NSW will be able to use an existing support item (Low Cost Disability-Related Health Consumables) to claim on the cost of PPE. Additionally participants living in their own home who test positive for COVID-19 and are required to self-isolate or quarantine will also now be able to claim for related cleaning costs. The ability to claim for the cost of PPE will be extended to Victorian and New South Wales’ providers allowing workers to continue delivering essential disability supports to NDIS participants. In her own words- I am a dually registered psychologist, with endorsements in Clinical Neuropsychology and Forensic Psychology. I have worked as a Clinical Neuropsychologist and Forensic Neuropsychologist both interstate and internationally in various public and private settings. I have recently also been appointed as the NSW practitioner member for the P...sychology Board of Australia. I am a trained assessor in the evaluation of Whole Person Impairment (WPI) and SIRA approved to conduct neuropsychological assessments for motor accident insurance claims. Clinically, my work focuses on assessing neuropsychological functioning in individuals with complex substance, injury, mental health, and forensic issues. A large part of this role involves diagnosis of neurological impairments such as acquired brain injury (ABI) to assist with treatment planning and access to appropriate services and supports. I have presented at local national, and international conferences, and have published and reviewed articles for academic journals. am also involved in increasing wider community awareness of brain injury, including risks, consequences, identification, and management planning.
