23.01.2022 The shire has been posting letters RE FIRE PREPAREDNESS to land owners in the shire. These are not penalty notices or orders but clean up BUT a notice that "It is fire season coming and for all land owners to be aware of it and to make sure your properties are well maintained." Should the council inspect your Property at a later date and serve a fire notice you then will be required to act in accordance with that infringement notice. ... Please take this notice as a reminder to make sure all your properties are maintained correctly prior to the Fire season. Please don't be alarmed , but treat this as a timely precaution.

14.01.2022 CFA has received a number of calls from community members regarding bonfires to mark the ‘Spark in the Dark’ event this evening. We appreciate those who are tha...nking our frontline workers, but urge you to keep fire safety front of mind. As today’s conditions are windy in some areas we are urging those who wish to participate to not do so by lighting bonfires or using fire pits. If you are choosing to light a candle, please ensure it is monitored by an adult and extinguished properly. You might like to mark the event by using a torch or outside light. Thank you and stay safe.

01.01.2022 Are you planning on doing a burn-off soon? If your planned burn-off is more than two hours away, you can register it at https://firepermits.vic.gov.au/notify If your planned burn-off is less than two hours away, you can register it on 1800 668 511... Remember to notify neighbours of your burn-off as well. Registering is important as it prevents an unnecessary fire services response. Fires reported to triple zero are cross-checked against registered burn-offs and, if your burn-off is not registered, the fire services may be notified.
