13.01.2022 Rev David Baker shares how this Easter will be quite unusual for many of us. No family camping trip, no Maundy Thursday or Good Friday service in our local chur...ch buildings, no sunrise service at the beach or lookout. It will be an Easter with a difference, and many of us may feel that difference keenly. We have the opportunity to gather as God’s people with our communities, even if only in electronically connected form, as we walk through the season of Easter. From the darkness of Friday, to the depths of Saturday, to the coming of the light on Sunday let us be reminded and encouraged, refreshed, knowing that Jesus, light of the world is present among us this Easter. The darkness will not overcome the light of Christ.

11.01.2022 Another few days have passed with more positive numbers emerging. It certainly seems like the COVID-19 curve is flattening. But we cannot be complacent. We must... continue on this journey, connecting with each other and delivering mission to Queenslanders in new ways. The more we follow the advice and guidelines that have been issued by government authorities, the sooner we will be able to resume some sense of normality. The effort across the state has been extraordinary. Earlier this year, there were a handful of congregations who livestreamed worship services. This figure has grown to more than 90 which is an unbelievable outcome.

We tha...nk you for times of unending love, grace and patience shown from our mothers. We also thank you for times of a mother’s knowing when enough is enough and having the courage to say so! We thank you for women across the world; mothers, aunties, sisters, neighbours who transform families and communities with their strength, integrity, knowledge and leadership. We also pray for women in places where they are not able to thrive or strive to be the best that they can be. On this special day we thank you for the gift of the mothers who have impacted our lives, and we ask your blessing on their comings and goings both on this day and for evermore.
