24.01.2022 Forgot to mention last week - School Tree Day was on Friday 24th July 2015. Tamar Natural Resource Management organised two school tree plantings at Youngtown Primary School in the morning. Thirty bird attracting trees were added to their school grounds. This is our fourth year working on School Tree Day with YPS. In the afternoon we visited Port Dalrymple School in George Town. We had another thirty bird attracting trees to add to their grounds too. Unfortunately the ...rain stopped us from doing this but we had a very enjoyable time in the classroom with the students drawing the plants, talking about them and answering their questions. This was our third visit to Port D. Thank you to both schools for being part of our School Tree Day activity. The students have so much enthusiasm and we all had a lot of fun. Thank you to Habitat Nursery at Liffey. They donated the plants to both schools and have been sponsoring our tree days since the beginning. If you ever want to visit a wonderful nursery, go to Habitat at 240 Jones Road, Liffey or have a look at their website: http://habitatplants.com.au/ AB :) :) :)

16.01.2022 This is my last week with Tamar NRM and Friday my last day in the office. I would like to thank the community for supporting Tamar NRM over the years I have been associated with it. I would also like to thank the many contributors to our quarterly newsletters - without your wonderful input they would not have been so interesting to read and I have thoroughly enjoyed compiling them. I wish all the very best to Tamar NRM, the two Program Co-ordinators and to you, our community Friends, who continue to support our achievements for the environment. AB :):)

09.01.2022 Tamar NRM held a field day last Thursday 6th August 2015 with Youngtown Primary School to plant 610 native grasses and shrubs at Youngtown Regional Park. It was a glorious day - sun shining, a very slight wind, twenty-seven enthusiastic Grade 2/3's and ten adults ready for a day to improve our environment in making a special place for native fauna to live in. As well the park has been enhanced aesthetically. Tamar NRM has been fortunate to received funding for three different projects since 2010 to help reduce any erosion problems at Youngtown Regional Park and to protect the fauna by building resilient native habitats. Tamar NRM encourages the community to visit Youngtown Regional Park and enjoy the surrounds and to realise what small hands can do to really make a difference to our environment. AB :)
