06.01.2022 Tambelin students enjoyed an Indigenous Weaving Workshop via zoom. Straw and yarn was used to create fabulous native Australian animals.

05.01.2022 Today, 22nd October, marks the 200th anniversary of when Governor Lachlan Macquarie and his exploration party, made their way through the Goulburn Plains in 1820. Tambelin celebrated this by walking to Rocky Hill, last Thursday, to explore the geographical changes that may have occurred within 200 years and discuss this significant historical event and how it may have impacted the local indigenous communities. Students explored the changes in the landscape and made prediction...s about what the future might look like. Tambelin Students reflected on this event through creating their own individual landscape artwork from this prominent position. On returning back to school in the afternoon all students enjoyed a workshop from Larry Brandy, a Wiradjuri man from Condobolin, central New South Wales who currently lives in Canberra. His hour presentation covered cultural insights into hunting, gathering, weapons, food and beliefs. See more
