25.01.2022 Some of our guests have been lucky enough to spot the wompoo fruit dove on our walk. This beautiful bird is distinguished by its incredible colours - green wings, purple chest, grey blue head and yellow accents. It also has a distinct "wompoo" call which gives the bird its name. 21.01.2022 Another pretty orchid in bloom now is the Orange Blossom Orchid (Sarochilus falcatus). It's an epiphytic orchid of higher altitudes, usually found in tree trunks covered in moss and lichens. It throws 3 to 12 perfumed flowers during spring.

20.01.2022 Did you know that a subtropical rainforest requires an annual rainfall of more than 1300mm? We are thankful for this much needed rain to refresh our rainforest and replenish our creeks and waterfalls on the mountain.

13.01.2022 Everyday at the Skywalk brings something new and today this stunning carpet python decided this was a perfect spot to soak up some sun.

12.01.2022 Out in bloom now is the Native Rosella {Hibiscus heterophyllus}. Native Rosella is an evergreen shrub growing around 1.8 meters tall. With its profusion of showy flowers it is an asset to any garden and its value is not restricted to its beauty. The edible leaves, flowers and roots are an attraction for many native birds, insects and butterflies.

11.01.2022 We are loving the new bamboo frog hotels made by local artist Rob. A perfect addition to any outdoor area, it even has an insect attracting solar light.

04.01.2022 The start of spring means the beginning of the breeding season for the Richmond Birdwing butterflies (Ornithoptera richmondia). We are starting to see them out and about here on the walk. This is the female and the male are an iridescent green.
