25.01.2022 Sometimes as a PT your sessions don’t go to plan. Sometimes what looks like it will take a while to do on paper doesn’t actually take that long at all and that’s exactly what happened at last nights session. The session I had planned took these guys 17 minutes to complete so I had to think on my feet and come up with a whole new workout to fill the time, but no matter what I throw at them they’re always up for the challenge.

20.01.2022 I love a good AMRAP workout. AMRAP stands for ‘As many rounds as possible’ Such an easy at home workout to put together. Choose a few exercises and reps, set a timer to try to get through as many rounds as you can in that time frame. If you’ve got 15 minutes you can smash out an awesome workout in that time. ... 14.01.2022 Not all ice cream is made equal! Who hasn’t sat down and started eating a tub of Ben and Jerry’s and before you know it, you’ve eaten the whole tub? GUILTY! If your goal is weight loss it’s probably not the smartest ice cream choice at 1310 calories per tub ... I don’t believe in depriving yourself of the foods you love which is why I think it’s so important to educate yourself on the caloric value of food. That way you can make educated choices that still aline with your goals, and you can still treat yourself. 12.01.2022 So this may look like a bit of a controversial post but hear me out............ I run my macro programs to help educate people about food and their daily choices so that I can help them lead a happier healthier well balanced life that doesn’t feel restrictive. I don’t believe in cutting out whole food groups or labelling certain foods as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ foods. I would rather call them ‘everyday’ and ‘sometimes’ foods.... You essentially want to fill your diet with 70-80% everyday foods to make sure you hit your daily fibre, nutrient and protein intake and and the rest can be filled with sometimes foods. I believe that you can eat EVERYTHING in moderation. One of the most common things new clients say to me is ‘I eat really healthy so I don’t know why I’m not losing weight’ But what most people don’t understand is *You can still OVER EAT ‘healthy’ foods* The point I’m trying to make with this post is this- if your goal is fat loss only, it’s not about WHAT you eat, but HOW MUCH you eat. I’m in no way encouraging people to go and live off a diet of McDonalds and I’m not even trying to say that you should choose a Big Mac over an acai bowl, I’m simply trying to say that fat loss is purely driven by a calorie deficit and that ‘healthy foods’ don’t necessarily equate to fat loss. 09.01.2022 So the age old bread versus wrap debate- Hands up if you’ve ever thought I’m going to have a wrap because they are healthier than bread?? ... Yep, me too! Well let’s look at the 2 options i have here for you all- Wonder smooth wholegrain bread (this is what I buy because it’s wholegrain but looks white so my kids think they are eating white bread) It’s got 175 calories per 2 slices. Mission original wraps have 183 calories per wrap. Although it’s not a huge calorie difference, you can see that it’s absolutely fine for you to have a sandwich instead of a wrap if that’s what you’d prefer! Of course there are wraps out there that are lower in calories to bread (Befree are 100 calories per wrap and delicious) but I thought I’d show you 2 main options as a comparison. Don’t be afraid of bread! So many people are. 04.01.2022 First session after Christmas in our new location. Today’s workout was brutal but I figured they needed it after 4 days no bootcamp and lots of great Christmas food and all the alcohol that was consumed. 50, 40, 30, 20, 10- reps... Choose 4 exercises Wall balls Slam balls G2OH squats Box jumps or step ups Push ups Sit ups DB hang cleans DB snatches Run 200mtres after every full rep set completed Beginners did 40, 30, 20, 10 reps- 100mtr run. This took most of them a solid 40 minutes.

When you finally understand that weight loss shouldn’t be about how much weight you can lose in the shortest amount of time but instead, how much you can transform your life from unhealthy habits to a more well balanced lifestyle and that weight loss becomes a bi product of that, that’s when you’re the real winner. 21.8kgs in total and what a life transformation!...
