Team: Div 1 Under 18 Men Favourite Basketball player? It depends on how Im feeling because theres a lot of players I like but right now Ill just say Tracy McGrady. Favourite bball team? Philadelphia 76s What he loves most about basketball? Combination of athletic ability/skills plus knowledge/ brain. Everybody can have a unique play style and approach to the game and still be effective. How long has he been playing? Came to it a little later then others in Yr 6 .. so 5 yrs Basketball goals? Ive had lots of different ones but right now I want to focus on having a good last year of rep basketball if possible and preparing my school team to go further in the knockout comp next year. What has he been doing bball related during Isolation? Trying to do as much fitness at home as I can since Ive always been one of the least fit on my rep teams and Ive always wanted to catch up. 22.01.2022 Return to Basketball - COVID 19 PLAN: A big welcome back from Tamworth Basketball Association to the return of basketball. With the current COVID-19 protocol we ask everyone to adhere to social distancing when attending games. We have devised a set of rules to be followed to do our part in helping the minimisation of contamination. A COVID-19 sanitation supervisor will be present on every court to help monitor the implementation of these rules. As with all rules applied to th...e games, there will be disciplinary action taken against offenders. The rules that are being put in place are to ensure the health and wellbeing of all players, spectators and officials. Therefore, it is in everyones best interest to adhere to these rules and restrictions, so we can continue to play the game that we have all missed and enjoy. 1) Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell or have flu like symptoms or have been recently tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting results. 2) Please do not attend if you have been in contact with anyone with COVID-19 3) We ask that you please arrive ready to play as the change rooms will not be available. 4) Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your allotted game time. If you arrive early please wait outside the facility away from the entrance, if you wish to warm up, do so outside and adhere to social distancing rules. 5) Due to social distancing there will be limited seating available, but spectators are welcome and encouraged to help with bench duties. If spectators are unavailable to do bench players will be asked to fulfil this duty with rotation of subs. 6) Tamworth Basketball Association will be providing game balls for every court which will be sanitised between games, we ask that you leave your basketballs at home as you wont be allowed to use them. 7) If you are wearing a mouth guard you will need to apply strict hand sanitation guidelines, if you are installing or removing your mouth guard you will need to sanitise after installation, (Before you are allowed to play again). This includes during free throws and game stoppages, for example. When not in use sweat towels are to be kept in a bag and hands sanitised after use. 9) No spitting of any kind! This include spitting into bins or on hands to clean soles of shoes. 10) Please do not linger after the completion of your game. 11) As handshakes are not allowed, we still encourage good sportsmanship and toe touches, or elbow bumps are acceptable. 12) Please be aware that all the benches and scoring equipment will be cleaned by the appointed COVID-19 sanitation supervisor between games. 13) Referees are required to use hand sanitiser, during time outs etc, especially when swapping between courts to referee or play. 14) All non-participants (anyone not listed on scoresheets) must sign in at court entry points Dave McCubbin Competitions Director Tamworth Basketball Association See more

Charlie was selected in the top 10 NSW Country Under 14 boys to compete in the Southern Cross Challenge in Melbourne in January. Charlie is the first Tamworth Thunderbolt to represent NSW at this tournament. Charlies team had 4 wins and 3 losses competing against the best U14 boys state teams across Australia. This win-loss record secured NSW 3rd place at the tournament Charlie led his NSW team in 3 pointers made for the tournament. TEAM: Div 1 Under 14 Boys. 12.01.2022 Dear TBA Members, I would like to thank you all for your patience over the last several months whilst we have been dealing with the Covid19 lockdown and ramifications that come with that. I wanted to provide you with an update of what is happening regarding our competitions. We understand that there will be a lot of questions and uncertainty at this time. We are relying on Basketball NSW and Government agencies to make decisions that will impact us. Until we have that informa...tion, we are doing the best we can, preparing to restart basketball when given the go ahead by the NSW Government. Based on the 3-step process announced by the Federal Government we will most likely need to be in Step 3 before being able to return, and even then, restrictions will apply. More details will follow on that as it comes to hand. As many of you know we generally run 2 competitions each year. Our Winter competitions run from February to June and our Summer competitions from July to December. Rather than start up new Summer Competitions, our intention is to resume the Winter Competitions where they left off. This would be round 4 for seniors and round 3 for junior competitions. Depending on timing, we may be able to provide a modified Summer Competition later in the year, once the Winter Competitions have been completed. In the meantime, please like and follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates on what is happening. Facebook: Tamworth Basketball Association. In order to get us back playing as soon as possible we recommend everyone download the CovidSafe app to their phones. If everyone is downloading the app, it will give the government greater peace of mind that it can track the virus, and give them greater comfort in lifting restrictions that are currently in place. Lucas had a great tournament. He poured in 96 points at an average of 12 points per game for the tournament 3rd highest scorer for NSW. Lakers What does Lucas love most about basketball?The teamwork, its fast paced its physical and its a strategic sport.
