19.01.2022 Welcome to Tamworth’s first physio service specialising in oncology and lymphoedema. Over the last three years working in Tamworth I have had patients undergoing cancer treatment whom have had to travel to Newcastle or Sydney for specialist physio services to rehabilitate them during/post cancer treatment or to assist with a secondary problem lymphoedema. I was fortunate enough to receive rural scholarships to complete PINC cancer rehabilitation training and level 1 lymphoede...ma therapist training. As of last September I have officially starting a lymphoedema service through North West Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy and am excited to be able to offer my new services in the North West. If you know anyone that has had chemotherapy, radiation or surgery for cancer, they may benefit from a review. I will now be posting regular updates on new information regarding cancer and lymphoedema treatment. Watch this space!

13.01.2022 Exercise is such a crucial part of recovery during cancer treatment at any stage, whether you are receiving chemotherapy, radiation or are post surgery. Exercise can assist the effectiveness of chemotherapy and radiation and also help to mitigate the side effects of these necessary treatments. If you are at any stage of your cancer treatment or recovery a one of one session with a Cancer Rehabilitation Physiotherapist can assist with these side effects, help regain your strength and mobility, ease pain, improve your energy levels and improve independence and body confidence.
