20.01.2022 Thank you to just some of our sister city Port Macquarie Senior Oztag pool players who made the trip across the mountain to train with us this morning to join our 10 Taipans teams for some training & a round robin. Such a perfect example of how important club comradery should be. Thanks a million guys & look forward to welcoming our other pool players at a later date! 20.01.2022 GREAT NIGHT FOR WINTER 2020 MENS & WOMENS COVID COMEBACK GRAND FINALS! Congrats to all teams & thanks to our wonderful Admin staff & Refs who ran GFs without me for the 1st time in 25yrs! Appreciate both players & staff persevering & being part of what has been an extraordinary 25th year of Oztag in Tamworth. Results below: MENS A Dome defeated Big Red 9-5 after only a 4-3 half time scoreline. Player of the Final went to Caleb Bergan from Dome whilst Overall Best & Fairest... went to Dawson Nean from Reds Concreting. MENS B - Hazels Heat defeated The Lads 7-4 following a 5-3 half time scoreline. Player of the Final went to John Weekes from Hazels Heat whilst Overall Best & Fairest went to Paul Kelly from Hazels Heat. WOMENS B Kooty Chicks defeated KL Curtis Plumbing 3-1 in a closely contested game which was only 1nil at half time. 13.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS to our 30s Mens Grand Finalists! What an exciting night of tag in our older divisions showing some amazing talent & skill in both games! This season has been exceptional in this grade so THANKS SO MUCH for joining us for our Covid Comeback! 30s MENS Shay Brennan Constructions defeated the newly formed 30s Mens team Bucket List 7-6 in what was an exciting & extremely competitive match. Following a 3-1 half time scoreline the Bucket List came back to a point where it was try for try. Player of the final went to Luke Austin from Bucket List whilst Overall Best & Fairest for the season went to Shaun Ferguson from Fitzys Family. 30s MENS (Carton Cup) Another close game for these boys with Sportspower defeating Fitzys Family 8-7 after a 4-3 half time. Good news though to kick us off into 2021 The boys & I dusted off the beach tag ball and are excited to announce that discussions are back underway with the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre in the hope that we may be able to celebrate 25 years of Oztag in Tamworth! There is a... possibility that our postponed 2020 Beach Tag in the Bush tournament may be rescheduled towards the end of this year. Fingers crossed & stay tuned for more info! 05.01.2022 Tag World Cup, University of Limerick Ireland August 2021 On Thursday 17th September 2020, the International Tag Federation (ITF) Board met (via Zoom) to discu...ss the implications of the Covid19 pandemic on Tag around the world and how the current situation will impact the delivery of the Tag World Cup 2021 to be held at the University of Limerick in Limerick, Ireland in August 2021. The ITF earlier in the year took the decision to cancel the Confederation Cup which was due to be hosted by the University of Limerick in August 2020. After much discussion over the last month and getting feedback from Board member countries, a decision was taken in line with relevant government and international public health authority advice. The ITF Board understands the financial challenges that face many of the players. With the current uncertainties in this regard all Board members agreed on the need to postpone the Tag World Cup 2021 and to host the event from the 31st July 5th August 2022. Country representatives will be sent more detail in the coming weeks. The International Tag Federation Board would like to thank the Irish Tag Rugby Association, in particular Tournament Director Peadar Niland, the University of Limerick’s David Ward and Limerick City and Council, Shannon Conference & Sports Bureau and Failte Ireland for their support in accommodating the Federation with this decision. The International Tag Federation now looks forward to hosting the Confederation Cup in Limerick in 2021 and the Tag World Cup in 2022, commented Stuart McConnell, ITF Chairman, on behalf of the ITF Board. A detailed calendar of ITF sanctioned events for 2021 and 2022 will be posted on the ITF digital platforms on Monday 21st September. This decision will mean that the Confederation Cup will be reinstated and will be hosted at the University of Limerick August 2021. ENDS

03.01.2022 Yet another great night of Grand Finals with both our A & B grade mixed both extremely tight competitive games played in great spirit. Thanks to all involved in the combined A/B grade division which was tough at times, but hopefully still enjoyable for all. RESULTS: MIXED A Giraffes defeated Thread Effects 11-10 in extra time after an extremely tight game with a 6 all half time. Player of the Final went to Zach Hatch from Thread effects whilst Overall Best & Fairest went to Zac Green from Giraffe. MIXED B Broken Spoke defeated Longyard Hotel 10-9 in what was yet another close competitive game after a 6-4 half time score line.
