22.01.2022 This year Tangara has been ranked 25th in the list of best performing schools in NSW our highest ranking ever! It seems even a global pandemic cannot put pause to the capabilities of our class of 2020! Congratulations to Jasmine A, Olivia B, Amy H and Amy W who were named All-Round Achievers. They all achieved results in the highest band possible for at least 10 units of their HSC courses. An incredible achievement! We also congratulate Monica F whose outstanding HSC major ...work was selected for nomination for ARTEXPRESS, and Amy H whose Music performance was nominated for inclusion in ENCORE. This year, 32 students attempted 172 examinations and earned 60 listings on the Distinguished Achievers List for achieving a Band 6 or equivalent in their course (90% or above). Our girls attained 68 Band 5 results across all courses, achieving 80% or above. Our Principal, Rita Sakr, couldn’t have said it better when she shared in her letter to our proud Year 12 parents that while today we celebrate an extraordinary academic effort, we know that the value of our unique young women cannot be measured by a set of numbers. She took this opportunity to reaffirm them of our primary goal and purpose at Tangara; to work hand-in-hand with parents to form women of good character. At Tangara, we encourage girls to not just become women of success, but rather to become women of value. It is my firm belief, and that of our Board, mentors and teachers, that by focusing our collective experience and expertise on developing women of virtue and good character, underwritten by a strong Christian faith, we will give them a foundation on which to build an unlimited future. One day, when their HSC score and ATAR are long forgotten, their success will be measured by their standing in the community, the strength of their relationships, their contributions to society, the instinctive compassion and empathy they show towards others, their kindness, resilience, optimism and determination. For we know that the fruits of future academic and professional success are borne from the seeds of virtue we have planted and nourished throughout their schooling. Congratulations again to our class of 2020, parents, teachers, mentors, and the prayers of our entire community as this was certainly a team effort!

09.01.2022 As our positive cases disappointingly continue to grow, our high school students received an email from our chaplain, Fr Felix this morning reminding them to pray and that Jesus said to take heart and have no fear. He continued with a reference to Anna from Frozen II: Let's follow Anna's advice for the next two weeks! Just do ‘the next right thing’: get up at a good time, and then... talk to your parents and siblings from your room, and then... tidy your bed and desk, an...d then... set your timetable for the day, and then... pay attention during online classes, do exercise, relax with your music, talk to your friends, wash your hands... and pray for all those that are suffering more than us! Please continue to keep our students, staff and their families in your prayers!
