24.01.2022 Hi everyone, hope you all had a lovely Easter. Just wanted to let you know that we are still open Monday to Friday to see emergency patients only. It can be difficult to keep up normal daily routines with all that is happening around us, but routine has never been more important to provide a semblance of normality. We want to encourage you to keep up your usual brushing and flossing habits to keep your mouth healthy. We don’t know when we will be able to do routine checks an...d cleans again. Try to avoid ‘grazing’ on those Easter eggs throughout the day - best eaten on one occasion, just before brushing. Here is an interesting article from the Australian Dental Association with tips on keeping your mouth healthy. If you have a dental emergency or any questions please do not hesitate to phone our reception staff on 3807 2471. See more

21.01.2022 Good Afternoon Everyone We are pleased to announce that Level 3 restrictions have now been lifted and we can now operate under Level 2 restrictions in the clinic starting from Monday the 27th April, Hooray! This is a very encouraging sign! What does this mean? ... We can provide dental treatment that are unlikely to generate aerosols; or minimise aerosols via rubber dam protection. This includes: Examinations Simple fillings without the use of high-speed handpieces, but if a high-speed handpiece is required we will provide the treatment under rubber dam Non-surgical extractions Hand scaling for cleans. Deep scaling and gum disease treatment will have to wait until all restrictions are lifted. No ultrasonic scalers and prophylaxis allowed. This may be adequate if you usually don’t need extensive cleaning, but if you do, we will need schedule you clean for when Level 2 Restrictions drop to Level 1 Managing soft tissue issues such as ulcers Denture procedures Preventive procedures such as application of topical fluoride. We will start contacting those of you whose treatment fit this category and have asked us to place you on our waiting list. It will take a little while to contact everyone so we thank-you for your patience in advance and we are looking forward to seeing you all soon. We will still be taking extra precautions including limiting the number of people in the waiting room and asking you questions to screen for COVID-19. If you have any questions or would like to book an appointment, please to contact us on 3807 2471. Sincerely, Roslyn, Freddie, and all the staff at Tansey St Dental.

19.01.2022 Tansey St. Dental would like to wish all our patients a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Here is a photo of all the staff enjoying our annual Christmas dinner to celebrate this festive period. 16.01.2022 Every year, thousands of adults and children are treated for dental injuries which could have been prevented or minimised by simply wearing a mouthguard. The Australian Dental Association strongly recommends a mouthguard in any sport where collision or contact is likely. Some sports are obvious like football, boxing and hockey; but cricket, basketball, netball, touch, and soccer can also be dangerous. The mouthguard should be worn for training as well as games. A custom-fitt...ed mouthguard, designed by your dentist will fit much more snugly, make breathing and speaking easier and be more comfortable. It is less likely to be dislodged on impact. Health fund rebates apply for mouthguards. Please phone our reception staff on 07 3807 2471 if you have any questions or to book an appointment.

13.01.2022 Here is an article whether sparkling water is good for you. Unfortunately, sparkling water is still slightly acidic, so the normal H2O water is still more favourable to keep hydrated and a healthier option for your oral health.

13.01.2022 An extracted tooth becomes this man’s lucky charm to win the lotto, who would have thought?!

13.01.2022 Food for thought; stats show that an average Australian is consuming 14 teaspoons of sugar a day. World Health Organisation recommends no more then 6 teaspoons a day should be consumed. Wow that’s more than double of what is recommended! This years Dental Health Week is all about being aware of our daily sugar consumption. The Australian Dental Association have a useful link with a report called Oral Health Tracker and useful tips on sugars in our diet. https://www.ada.org.au/Dental-Health-Week-2020/Home

08.01.2022 UPDATE on Covid-19 We are still currently open, but our primary focus is ensuring the safety of our staff and clients, whilst still providing essential dental services. All dental practices in Australia operate under some of the most stringent infection control procedures and protocols in the world. These have been increased to deal with Covid-19. General dental practices are NOT capable of treating anyone with Covid-19 and these people will be referred to a specially-equip...ped government clinics for emergency treatment only. We have now moved to Level 3 restrictions. What does this mean? We can’t do any routine check-ups, cleans or fillings Extractions are limited We can only treat patients with serious problems or emergencies Here are some of our extra precautions: We are lengthening the time between appointments to allow extra environmental cleaning to occur We are limiting contact between patients. Please do not bring extra people with you to your appointment. When you arrive for your appointment you have the option to stay in your car and phone in. We will call you when we are ready for you to come in. You will be asked to use alcohol-based hand rub when you arrive and we will check that you have no symptoms of Covid-19. Special arrangements are in place for those over 60 or with chronic health conditions. Please let us know over the phone if you think you are in one of these categories. Please be assured that we are taking every measure to ensure your safety. For any further enquires or questions, please phone our friendly team on (07) 3807 2471
