22.01.2022 Training Update - Training is on Junior Tennis Practice Thurs 24th Oct 2019... The temperature outside is currently (2pm) a warm 34.9 with the WBGT Sun at 25. Confirming tennis practice is still on this afternoon and John will be at the courts for club coaching as normal. Please ensure you are sun smart with hat, water, sunscreen applied before stepping onto the courts. The Tennis Australia guidelines for heat policy has not yet been enacted - see below However if you or your child would prefer not to attend training today due to the heat, we completely understand and support your families decision 20.1 BLTA Heat policy A. The WBGT SUN column for Nuriootpa on the Bureau of Meteorology website will be the primary reference used to determine if our heat policy will be enacted. B. The WBGT SUN column for Roseworthy on the Bureau of Meteorology website will be the backup reference used to determine if our heat policy will be enacted in the event that the Nuriootpa Temperature is unavailable. C. When WBGT SUN temperature reaches 26.0 any set that has not commenced shall proceed from a starting score of 2-2 D. When WBGT SUN temperature reaches 30.0 all matches shall cease immediately. E. Night Tennis Matches may delay the start of a match until 8pm by mutual consent of the team captains. If the match is delayed then the first round of sets are to begin at 2-2. 22.01.2022 Unfortunately due to heat we are cancelling the Red Ball & Orange Ball Hot Shots sessions scheduled for this afternoon, Wednesday 29th January. These sessions were a makeup session rescheduled from term 4 2019. Weather being kind to us Term 1 2020 Hot Shots are due to commence next week.

21.01.2022 UPDATE 22.03.20: AGM POSTPONED & PRESENTATIONS CANCELLED to ensure the health and well being of our members. We are sorry for the disappointed this may cause to many of our members and players. A player from each team will still be awarded a trophy for Most Consistent. Acknowledgement of the recipients will be made via our social media pages and an email to all members/families. Trophies will be delivered in person by a committee member. Please acknowledge and congratulate players and award recipients in person or via digital technology on a really successful season 2020. Stay safe.

Sessions will be held weekly commencing Monday 20th July, 3.30-4.00pm for Red Ball (ages 5-7) or 4-4.30pm for Orange Ball (ages 8-17) participants. Coaching will be provided by our Tennis Australia Club Professional John Watts in a friendly and fun environment @ Tanunda Tennis Club courts. Sessions will run 30 mins and include a small group of children, complying with COVID-19 rules. Cost $10 per child per week, payable weekly direct to John. Sadly, no matches will be played for the remainder of Season 2020.... Congratulations to our teams who were due to play in Grand Finals this week - Div 1 Wednesday - Tanunda Downunder Div 2 Friday - Tanunda Black Div 1 JTL - Tanunda Black Div 2 JTL - Tanunda Black Div 4 JTL - Tanunda Black Div 6 - Tanunda White We understand the disappointment our players will feel as a result of not being able to play in their Grand Final, for many players this would have been their first experience to play in a tennis Grand Final. It was an excellent season for Tanunda Tennis Club to have so many of our teams make it through to Grand Final week. Next season will be our chance to play Finals again! 02.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We hope you are as excited as we are for the 2020/21 tennis season to commence! Our Junior Competition is scheduled to start Saturday 17th October, 8.30am. Weekly pre-season training for all our junior players will commence Thursday 1st October, 2020.... 4.00pm 5.00pm (players last season who played div 7 or 6 & new players) 5.00pm to 6.00pm (players from last season who played div 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1) Our pre-season training will be an informal session to give players the chance to start hitting some balls and match practice. Our club coach John Watts will be on hand to give coaching tips. This will also give us a chance to ensure we have correctly submitted our junior divisions for the 2020/21 season with the association. We understand that due to current commitments and school holidays not all players at this time will be able to attend pre-season training. If it is possible we ask players to please attend at least one or part of the hour training session. We are still working through final team selections. Teams will be communicated in the coming weeks, along with training schedules. Thursday 15th October, 2020 will be the first training with your team at your allotted training time. Tanunda Tennis Club Polo Top - Dont forget to email your order for a Tanunda Tennis Club Polo Top. An order form is attached, orders due by 1st October, 2020. It is not compulsory to wear a club polo top. 02.01.2022 UPDATE: Our Association President has confirmed that at this stage, Junior Finals will proceed as originally planned. Grand Finals for each division will be held at separate venues to minimise the size of crowds. A decision on which venue will hold each final will be made after the semi-finals have concluded.
