24.01.2022 The saddest thing I’ve ever seen Is a woman on a horse that does not believe she is good enough to be there. Do not compare yourself. There is only this mome...nt, this horse. Your hands, seat, voice and leg, define the parameters of the entire world for this horse. What anyone else is doing, or has ever done, does NOT matter. Whomever it is that you look up to or feel less than Is in turn, looking up to another rider, wishing to aspire to that level. So be content where you are You are blessed! YOU are your only competition Just be better today than you were yesterday. Try hard for this horse you ride and try hard for yourself. Most of all, enjoy this time; Every moment. Every stride. Every cue that is answered with a response. Cherish this partnership Know, that you are exactly where you are supposed to be --Amye Photo credit Lee Willis

18.01.2022 So grateful to Allana Carmody for her sponsorship of VBA Brindabella, she has donated a beautiful pink halter and lead for Brindi now she is up to that stage of her training. Today Brindi had a walk and some time out before a session in the roundyard then got to enjoy a roll in the sand... which she really seemed to enjoy. Brindi thought it was interesting having visitors today thanks Kerry and Allana for dropping by to see Brindi’s progress ... Would anybody else be interested in sponsoring Brindi’s journey...? PS Brindi had a reaction to the backline treatment before I collected her but it should improve from here on #VBABrindabella #Supergrateful #sponsorship #AustralianBrumbyChallenge

17.01.2022 Holy enterolith! Last week a horse presented with common signs of colic, laying down, looking at her belly, and was not improving after administration of banami...ne. The horse was hospitalized at Block and Bridle for IV fluid treatment and after passing manure we found these! Enteroliths are a buildup of minerals in the GI tract that form perfectly smooth heavy stones. We are happy to report that after passing these the horse became comfortable and was discharged. The owner will have to monitor her carefully in the future for any recurring enteroliths. See more

16.01.2022 Spectrum got to enjoy an Equissage - Tranquilssage treatment and targeted treatment for his neck after a chiropractic adjustment from Gary Christou yesterday. He was unsure at first but then relaxed down and enjoyed the treatment as it went on. Great to have the Equissage on hand for horses that need a treatment

16.01.2022 This past weekend I gave my first Equissage treatment to a client horse - Anzac. He had a foot abscess and had been quite stressed, He also had a lot of muscle tightness and had been on box rest and hand walked. Prior to the abscess he had also been subject to a dog attack only several weeks prior so gave some treatment to those facial areas to help increase circulation and assist in healing. Anzac enjoyed the treatment and seemed to really relax into it. Really happy with how the process all went.

15.01.2022 Mindset is everything... go in with a can do attitude and no expectations VBA Brindabella did so well today, a penny dropped for her and so many things have come together for her today... Don’t get me wrong it’s not smooth sailing but we no longer have squalls for now and are riding the waves...... Brindi and I have been doing rope work and a lot of body touch to bring down her anxiety levels and reduce her anxiety/overwhelm reactions. Today we have progressed enough to pick up front feet for more than Five seconds and hold in preparation for the farrier to visit. The rope work with hindquarters is also in preparation for this and in readiness to remove the wire from Brindi’s tail. Brindi even let down her guard today enough for us to have a smooch Progress is progress and we are glad we are moving forward...

11.01.2022 Attention recreational horse owners! Transported Stock Statements (TSS) for Horse Movement are now available as a FREE PDF you can download from the LLS websi...te. You can print this form as many times as you like and share blank copies with friends as it does not have a serial number. This TSS for Horse Movement CAN NOT be used for transporting any other type of livestock as it does not meet National Livestock Identification Guidelines (NLIS). If you are making a return trip on the same day you only need to complete one form. To read the FAQs head to http://bit.ly/HorseTSSFAQs Download a copy of the form here http://bit.ly/HorseTSSForm

10.01.2022 Have a little think about this

08.01.2022 It comes as no surprise that horses' performance can be dramatically improved following cleaning! Look how this hard penis crust has attached itself to the sens...itive penile skin. Now imagine how this might feel in a tight, compressed area when you're being asked to run around with a rider on board! No amount of sheath cleaner will penetrate a 1cm thick crust (his owner tried her best to clean him but nothing worked). Removing this is often a job for a sheath cleaner or even a vet as they will do it safely in a way that doesn't cause him any unnecessary discomfort.

08.01.2022 And the puzzle is slowly coming together... Brindi had her first visitor touch her which all went positively so, today that meant we were able to trim Brindi’s front feet. Super proud of this girl... we will continue to work with ropes and touching games before having Simon attempt to do back feet as I do believe in farrier safety ... Simon Roberts is a master farrier who is kind, patient and also does an amazing job. Super grateful of his sponsorship of Brindi and would absolutely recommend him #vbabrindabella #AustralianBrumbyChallenge2020 #SimonRobertsMasterFarrier #Sponsorship

05.01.2022 ARE YOU MOVING HORSES?? EDIT: I’ve just called Local Land Services and have been advised that there is No Charge for the Transported Stock Statements. They wil...l email one to you so you can print it out when you need it! From August 2020 pretty much everyone moving horses must have a Transported Stock Statement, the form obtained from your Local Land Services. If the Police pull you over you could be fined if you don’t have the paperwork!!!

04.01.2022 Mares aren’t always well liked and for the same reasons strong women aren’t. Opinionated? Those opinions are not without good cause and maybe you can't figure them out or maybe you just don’t like her opinion of you. Change it and she will always be on your side. Stubborn? She just won’t let you bulldoze her. Treat her with respect and her resilience will be an asset to you. ... Difficult? You just can’t handle her. You don’t have what it takes. Stick with geldings then, and leave the mare for someone who understands her and appreciates the same qualities society has subtlety taught you not to like. Here’s to mares, to strong women, and to those who CAN and DO appreciate them! ~ The Evolving Equestrian

04.01.2022 Lovely gelding for sale, definitely worth a look https://www.horsedeals.com.au/listings/paint-bay-gelding

03.01.2022 I discuss this with many of my riders, it’s about the way you hold yourself and ride and not flop around in the saddle, not just your weight alone that effects the horse.

02.01.2022 We are shattered to announce the passing of one of our beautiful Brumbies. VBA Brindabella was being lovingly trained by Tanya Harris in the Australian Brumby C...hallenge. She passed away suddenly overnight, after eating a good dinner and with no obvious cause. Tanya Harris has written the following: ‘VBA Brindabella was truly loved in her time with me. Our journey was filled with joy, fear, sorrow, excitement and many, many new experiences. Our journey was never straight forward but we both learnt and grew from our experiences. Beautiful Brindi as she was known whilst she was here taught me a lot about tuning into the experience and just taking time in each moment. Brindi learnt so many new things, she learnt to trust so much including being haltered, going for a walk and a graze, being introduced to domesticated horses, dogs, quad bikes, horses being worked around her. She became accustomed to being fed and watered everyday, being interacted with in some form. We started slow waiting for Brin’s personality to come out and had worked up to being able to handle her front and back feet, being trimmed, being brushed, removing knots from mane and tail. Brindi enjoyed scratches and hugs when she wanted them and more if they were accompanied by lucernce chaff or carrots. I am truly shellshocked by the loss of Brindi as there was no obvious injury or cause and was fine on night time check but had sadly passed away before morning feed time, she will be truly missed by myself and all those following her journey. I had dedicated so much time to working with her that she truly stole a piece of my heart, she will be forever missed.’ Please understand that this is a very difficult time. We are so deeply shattered to lose Brindi, just as she was finding her way in the world. Our hearts go out to Tanya and her family who had shown her so much love and kindness. Also, to our volunteers and committee who loved and cared for Brindabella. We all believed in Brindi, we loved her and we wish so much that we had more time with her. Rest peacefully Brindi. Run free. Thankyou Donna Crebbin -Pixs Pics- Photography for the stunning photo.
