My husband Blake and I celebrated last night with a candle lit dinner at home and this cake (Blake was very excited that he was allowed to eat this one )... 15.01.2022 Happy Sunday everyone I often get asked how to make buttercream icing in summer/ HOT weather, so I thought Id share a few tips if you feel up for the challenge ? Only use butter and icing sugar Only use gel/ paste food colouring ... Dont add any liquids eg. milk, vanilla Turn your aircon on!!!! (if you have one) If piping, work quickly so icing doesnt melt in your hand! (Pesky HOT weather lol, SOOO much easier to bake in the cooler months) Happy baking!!

04.01.2022 Have you ever made your own icing sugar? I finally tried it for the first time yesterday and I was surprised how easy it was! If you feel like giving it a go, these are the steps I used Ingredients: - 1 cup white sugar... - 1 tablespoon corn flour Method: Add sugar and cornflour in a blender or food processor (I use a Nutri bullet) and blend until powdered (In a Nutri bullet, it takes about 10 seconds). And you will now have approx 1.5 cups of icing sugar. Its that easy! *You can also use the same method with a natural sweetner e.g natvia for a sugar free recipe. *To make caster sugar, you can just blend regular white sugar too! (no cornflour)
