19.01.2022 #greataustraliancraftshow Good morning - the Great Australian Craft Show 6 (GACS6) is starting tomorrow morning. There is a special feature for this show being "Up Close and Personal" - a chance to see and hear a little more from many Australian craft supply retailers: https://www.facebook.com/CraftAlive Please don't look for me being featured there - I have been a little under the pump with some external commitments over the past few weeks and although the wonderful Craft ...Alive team scheduled an interview for me, I needed to cancel. We are still a part of GACS6 and a heads up is that I have put aside some time to enter new products online over the weekend. I've started new listings already. Last night I added six beautiful Maywood Studio flannels from the Wild Rose Collection designed by Marti Michell including the fabrics in the photo: https://www.tascottageindustries.com.au/collections/flannel See more

More will be loaded online throughout the event, with some new flannels already online to look at including these three Timeless Treasures plaids / checks from the Tailor collection. Soft and cuddly fabric in masculine colours. Great for quilts, especially rag quil...ts. These flannels would also be great made into shirts or pyjamas. Good prices: https://www.tascottageindustries.com.au/collections/flannel See more

18.01.2022 Good evening - hoping you are having a good weekend. I've been adding some more fabrics to our online store today. Here are just a few of them: The purple is a wide back from Wilmington Prints; then "Wild Meadow" digital print designed by Chong-A Hwang; and the yellow floral is part of a 70's inspired reproduction collection called "Gingham Girl". (Not sure I'm that keen on my teenage decade being considered old enough for reproduction prints - lol .) Have a great night - Cheers Deb (and Paul)

16.01.2022 The last post I did yesterday to the Great Australian Craft Show: #greataustraliancraftshow Tas Cottage Industries Beautiful prints from the Robert Kaufman Paris Romance collection just loaded onto our online site. Ivory and Coral - sold in half metre cuts - $7.00 each.

This price bracket includes fabrics designed by Lynette Anderson, Tula Pink, Jinny Beyer and Kaffe Fassett. Great value. https://www.tascottageindustries.com.au/col/half-yards-7-00... Just $20 to access unlimited hours of classes - well worth checking out as so many choices and opportunities to learn some new craft skills. https://gacs.craftalive.com.au/classroom/

06.01.2022 #greataustraliancraftshow Good morning In case you didn't know the Great Australian Craft Show (online event) is happening now. Lots and lots of exhibitors from throughout Australia with links to their pages within the GACS site, and then links to their own online sites. We are there too and please be kind if you watch my video - lol. Whatever your craft, if you need anything or simply love armchair shopping, grab a coffee or a wine, sit in your com...fortable chair and start browsing through the exhibitors. There are filters to point you in the right direction. If you don't find what you are after, make use of the Shopping List invitation for us exhibitors to help you find what you need. I am going to try and find some ready made items or novelty notions as gifts later. I want to support my fellow exhibitors as I know they have and continue to miss out on their usual trade events. Though that is not the main reason for the development of GACS online, it is to ensure crafts folk have safe access to everything they need. Its for you , so please stay creative, healthy and safe. Cheers Deb (and Paul) https://www.craftalive.com.au/exhibitors/

04.01.2022 Hoping everyone is well and having a good weekend so far. A friend was looking for fabric featuring poppies for an Anzac Day project to gift to a Nursing Home. Just in case anyone else has been thinking about Anzac Day or poppy projects, hopefully these two photos may provide some motivation. You probably have fabric just as lovely or even more beautiful in your stash you can use, which is great. In case you feel you can't live without any poppy prints in your stash and... don't already some, head on over to my online store. The first is a large print flannel by Timeless Treasures for $6.00 per half metre length. The second is a 5 block x 3 block (15 blocks total) panel by Elizabeth Studios selling for $11.00 per panel. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. See more

03.01.2022 Good morning - a quick heads up that some new 108" wide (widebacks) arrived yesterday. Check out the Smashing Atoms, very bright, very modern.. (Smashing Atoms will be $25 per metre and the Spiced and Pomegranate $23 per metre.) See more

02.01.2022 Happy and Safe Easter Everyone This will be an Easter none of us will forget and like everyone else Paul and I are missing the in person contact with family and friends, and our customers. Last Easter we were at the Break O’Day Stitchers Exhibition in St Helens and last Saturday we would have been trading at the Quilters' Easter Showcase at Brighton. Last month we would have been at the March Tasmanian Quilting Guild's quarterly meeting. One of the things we pride ourselve...s on is responding to requests and putting in some additional effort to find different products - at the right price. Me being a shopaholic helps and not surprisingly I enjoy the challenge of special requests. We would have attended the different trading events that had been scheduled but then cancelled, with products brought along specially to meet various requests. We had been trying to work out how to be able to keep offering products to our customers especially during these times of isolation where a great number of projects are underway or unfinished projects from the bottom of the baskets are being completed. We brought our plans forward to have an online site. It is up and functioning correctly but is not 100% stocked. We have approximately 800+ more bolts in stock, lots more Aurifil thread shades and so many other types of notions. There simply hasn't been enough time to list all our stock, but we want you to have access to it if you are after something in particular. With that background and possibly having a little better understanding of Tas Cottage Industries, if there is anything you are needing for your project that you are having difficulty finding please feel free to ask. There is a good chance we may already have something suitable though it is not listed yet on our online store. (Our maximum postage cost is $5.00 for a tracked parcel.) We've decided that Easter will be dedicated to customer requests as we are here with our products all Easter and will be more than happy for enquiries by phone (0408356192) or messages via phone, FB or using the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of our online store page: https://www.tascottageindustries.com.au

01.01.2022 Happy New Year - Paul and I feel like 2020 is going to be a great year for us and Tas Cottage Industries and wish everyone health and happiness. Thank you for your support in 2019 and hoping we meet again in this new year and decade. Our first trading event of the year is at the Bridport Textile Group Exhibition being held Friday10th January to Sunday 12th January. (Copy of flyer below.) I think there are about 50 quilts for display - so a great exhibition for viewing and inspiration. There will be other traders and a raffle - yoohoo. Bridport is such a beautiful part of Tassie, so especially worth visiting the exhibition and supporting the Bridport Textile Group. Put together a car load and make a day of it. We are so happy to have been invited and hope to see you there.
