22.01.2022 IT'S TIME TO REOPEN SMALL BUSINESS. As a small business owner, I know firsthand the pressures that all Victorian small businesses are currently experiencing. Here is a great interview with Mary Aldred, CEO, Franchise Council of Australia with George Donikian at TheInformer about the issues small businesses are experiencing. I am committed to developing a economic and jobs recovery plan for #maroondah that will help kickstart business, industry and employment in conjunction with our local education providers and traders. BizHub Maroondah is also available to support local small business during COVID. I encourage you to reach out to them for support.

16.01.2022 Getting ready for Grand Final weekend next week.
15.01.2022 The latest edition of Find Maroondah is now available with statements provided by participating candidates running in each of the nine Maroondah wards. Find Maroondah is a great new local paper with lots of interesting content and information relevant to #Maroondah residents. I am glad we have a local newspaper dedicated to reporting local news and events like this year's local government elections.
15.01.2022 Voting is compulsory this local government election, but an informed vote is more powerful. Researching every candidate, their platform and principles, will give you a better idea of who they are and what their intention is for being on council. I bring generational and cultural change, and leadership that is genuine, compassionate, inclusive, and community focused. I want a Maroondah that is vibrant, family-friendly, environmentally sustainable, and an educational and economic activity centre that provides opportunities for everyone for generations to come.
10.01.2022 Thank you Ringwood City Soccer Club for your support and endorsement. I am proud to be a member of Maroondah's football community. It seems like a lifetime ago that I was state teams coordinator for Football Federation Victoria, but I enjoy now being a volunteer in grassroots football competitions, including at the Mooroolbark Soccer Club, and active supporter of Croydon Ranges Football Club, Croydon City Arrows Soccer Club and Muvanlai FC.
09.01.2022 With this week's disappointing jobs figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, showing further significant job losses in Victoria, it's time small businesses reopen given the positive news there are only 175 active COVID cases in Victoria (as at 15 October https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus-covid-19-daily-upda).
08.01.2022 Thank you to Croydon Ranges Football Club for your support and expression of confidence in me. I am proud to be a supporter of the club and I look forward to the season recommencing next year at Silcock Reserve, which is currently being redeveloped to include new female-friendly change rooms, spectator viewing areas, and social spaces. For more information on the redevelopment of Silcock Reserve, please visit: https://www.maroondah.vic.gov.au//Silcock-Reserve-Pavilion
07.01.2022 Around this time last year, I joined the Australia Chin Community - EM for the opening of the new futsal and volleyball courts at Hughes Park. It has served as an important meeting place for Maroondah's Chin community, who I have come to know very well in recent years.
03.01.2022 Thank you to Transition Towns Maroondah Inc. and Connecting Maroondah for giving me the opportunity to respond to their questions on local environmental issues, climate change, over-development, community consultation, the protection of our parks and reserves, and providing solutions to some of the issues we face in light of these matters.
02.01.2022 Thank you to the Croydon Rams Baseball Club for your support and endorsement. I'm proud to be a member of this great club. Unfortunately, due to COVID, this year's baseball season was cancelled, which disappointed us all. Local sporting clubs are needing a lot of support during this time, and I am here for all the grassroots volunteers, players, families and supporters to help in whatever capacity I can.
02.01.2022 Here are the candidate responses to the Alliance for Gambling Reform's Pokies Play You campaign. In 2018, Maroondah City Council formally adopted its Maroondah Gambling Policy 2018, which commits: to create and maintain a safe gambling environment and protect those at risk of gambling-related harms reduce the harms associated with gambling... represent the community’s views, fears and aspirations with regards gambling in the municipality implement best practice with regards the operation of gambling activities on Council-owned land support initiatives that seek to prevent and address gambling-related harms. It's also very important to limit the reach of gambling on local sport and advertising to children. It is concerning when 3 in 4 children think gambling is a normal part of sport. #EndGamblingAds You can find a copy of Maroondah's gambling policy here: https://www.maroondah.vic.gov.au//Maroondah-Gambling-Polic
