05.01.2022 "Hi, I'm Womby. Just another Wombat here in Tasmania but I have mange. Don't run away, you can't catch it over the internet! I am safely tucked up in my burrow at the moment, which is really strange as it's night time and I am normally a nocturnal mammal. Trouble is, this mange, apart from being really itchy and very painful has also made my eyes close and my hearing almost non-existent so I tend to go out during the day where I can sort of distinguish shapes at least. I w...as out today and the strangest thing happened... I could sort of hear something large moving around me and then I was grabbed from above and some sort of wet liquid was applied to the back of my neck! Wow! How scary was that? I growled and struggled but to no avail, thank goodness it didn't last long and whatever had me let go (probably realised how ferocious I was). It got worse! A short time later I heard the large creature again and then I was drenched with a lot of liquid all over my back (It did feel kind of nice as my back is really sore but don't tell anyone I said that). I growled again and the large creature ran away. Grrr. Anyway, time for sleep, will chat more with you later" Womby zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz #letssavewomby

01.01.2022 This page is not just for 'Womby' but all wombats throughout Tasmania that are suffering with mange so please, lend your moral support and best wishes. I wan't going to make it a donate page but thought why not? Wombat Rescue Tasmania are doing a great job and no-one wants to see wombats die out because of a disease like this. You don't have to donate, just send your well wishes to all Tassie's wombats.
