11.01.2022 It's our 7th Birthday!! This Sunday, 28th June We’d like to extend a big thank you to everyone, near and far, who has contributed to making our Ecovillage what it is today. It’s short notice we know, but for those of you who live nearby, we’d love you to join us this Sunday at 12 noon, for a community BBQ lunch, an acknowledgement of all the help we’ve received, and an opportunity to wish TEV "Many Happy Returns" :-)... The BBQs will be switched on outside and the fire will be going inside, so please bring something for the BBQ and/or a plate to share. There will be birthday cake! For those of you who live far away and/or can’t make it on Sunday, we’d like to invite you to share your Birthday Wishes via Zoom at 1.30pm. Please RSVP and we’ll send you the link.

05.01.2022 If you have ever thought of joining a thriving Ecovillage and intentional community, this is an excellent time to contemplate a change of lifestyle. Tasman Ecovillage in Nubeena Tasmania could be your new home Our community recently celebrated its 7th birthday. We are proud of what we have achieved so far and invite new resident members to help us with the next phase of our creation. For more information regarding our community go to www.tasmanecovillage.org.au or email [email protected] BREAKING NEWS - A few weeks ago we released Stage 3 of our Community Development Scheme! We are currently experiencing another wave of interest in our Ecovillage with eight lots already sold to people committed to our vision and values. We still have 4 strata land lots available in Pods B and C that are suitable for well-designed, energy-efficient homes. Existing government grants of $45,000 are available in Tasmania for newly built homes, making prices for our fully serviced strata lots look even more attractive. There is also the added possibility of vendor terms under some conditions. If all this sounds interesting, please email: [email protected] for more information regarding our land offer prior to a visit. And please share this information widely with your friends and others who may be interested in living in a sustainable ecovillage and contributing to the development of a vibrant community. Thank you:)

02.01.2022 We are inviting applications for rental for this clean and compact 2 bdr apartment in the Tasman Ecovillage complex at Nubeena; $220 per week. The photos were taken when it was part of the onsite motel complex, which will be closing in two months. It is being let unfurnished (with fridge); although if you need it furnished we can do that too. The photos don't show the spacious renovated bathroom and the lovely views from the bedrooms and living room. Renters have access to al...l community facilities and gardens. "Pet friendly" means that dogs are considered on a case by case basis; but no cats. Sorry, we are an ecovillage. Nubeena is the regional centre for the Tasman Peninsula. It has bank, chemist, PO, doctor, school to year 10 and a very active neighborhood house. It is 1hr15mins from Hobart; an hour from Sorell/airport. There is a daily bus service to Hobart. Please message Karen Weldrick (find her on Facebook!) for an application form. She is happy to answer questions by email or phone. Preference of applications will be given to: 1) People in most need of secure housing, and/or 2) People aligned with the Vision and Values of the ecovillage, and 3) People who are interested in participating in community life. Please be aware that the initial lease is for six months while we all get to know each other; some people were born to community life, others go "nah" ..... :) If you are happy here and connect with us, then the lease will be yearly renewable and you will have a secure long term rental if you need it. We look forward to hearing from you!
