22.01.2022 The Tasmanian Bushland Garden will reopen on Friday the 24th July. It has been closed due to the pandemic. We have taken the opportunity to rejuvenate the formal garden beds. With wonderful winter rains we are hoping for a fantastic spring display, looking at its best for the opening of the Sculpture Trail on Sunday 11th October at 11 am.
21.01.2022 Six weeks until the opening of the sculpture trail at the Tasmanian Bushland Garden. A preview ofsome of the sculptures for sale...

19.01.2022 the Gardens are currently closed, but the flowers still bloom and we are giving the garden beds a facelift. There is a new bench for the Lookout, lovingly hand crafted by Dougal Harris of the Schoolhouse Joinery

08.01.2022 This beautiful life sized Wandering Albatross sculpture comes from Dougal Harris. It will be on sale along with 20 other sculptures at the Gardens. The opening of our biennial Trail is on Sunday the 11th October from 11 am, there will be plant sales and lunch stalls and a circus workshop for children courtesy of the Sands family. A good reason to get out and about in Tasmania this Spring when our flowers will be at their best
07.01.2022 The Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos are enjoying the gardens! The wood chipping is typical when they are mining the wattle branches for grubs. Always nice to see the ecosystem working as it should.

05.01.2022 Sadly, we have been forced to close the Tasmanian Bushland Garden until further notice, due to health risks. Happily we have had over 100 mms of rain to settle in the extensive autumn plantings. Nelson's Creek is 'roaring' and that is so good to know. I hope we will be on track for a bumper Sculpture Trail Opening on Sunday October the 11th. The gardens will emerge refreshed from this wetting. Hopefully there is some artistic inspiration out there for an 'Isolation Creation'
02.01.2022 Welcome to the Tasmanian Bushland Garden (TBG) It is always an exciting time in the TBG, in any season. A community botanic garden created and maintained by a dedicated group of volunteers. The gardens were created as a showcase of Tasmanian native plants and have become a popular venue for community and family events. There are display beds of various plant communities and walking tracks that take you for relaxing strolls around the 22 hectare site.... The unique sculptures feature the talents of local artists and add to the overall ambience of the gardens and surrounding bushland. The TBG is open every day except Christmas day. Hours are 8:00 am to 6:30 pm October to March and 9:00 am to 4:30 pm April to September. Barbecue and picnic shelter are available on site plus a children’s playground. Come and visit us, see what is blooming, take a stroll and enjoy the view from the hill top look out or snap one of our unique sculptures, sit in a quiet spot and contemplate the world then finish your visit with a picnic. So, take a well-earned break and enjoy the delights of the TBG. See you there.
