25.01.2022 Baldy has had a rough start

24.01.2022 Plans are underway for this years TMEC, Tassie is Better with Balance event. If there was ever a time where we all needed to get outdoors, be active and spend time with friends, it is now! Keep an eye on your mates and keep active.

21.01.2022 Great News!!! We are closing in on $14,000.00 raised in support of The Salvation Army Tasmania. Thanks to all that have donated, our sponsors and TMEC for making this event possible.

14.01.2022 Its all about looking out for each other. Today is the day to ring a mate.

13.01.2022 Busted and resting. The amount of blood in our feet meant we needed to rest and raise our feet above our heart to reduce the swelling.

11.01.2022 Huge thank you to all our sponsors. Its been great to have you involved.

10.01.2022 It has certainly been a BIG year!!! Through Challenge 2020 we were able to raise significant funds for The Salvation Army Tasmania along with raising awareness of the importance of being physically active and enjoying the outdoors. A huge thanks to TMEC, all Sponsors, support crew and families and of course the awesome participants. What a great place we live in. Tassie is Better With Balance

10.01.2022 We were ahead of the curve with our social distancing!

10.01.2022 Its been four days since we all finished this EPIC event. What an experience it was, Mother nature proved once again that she is in charge all you can do is ride it out and stay positive. We are happy to say that we reached our target for Diabetes Tasmania and given the conversations before and after the event we certainly feel we have continued to raise awareness of the need to talk about our mental health. Thank you again to TMEC and all our sponsors.

09.01.2022 Gday all. We will have very limited phone service from about 6pm tonight till Sunday around 10am. All going well that is. We are fighting some challenging weather but making good progress. Thant you to all our sponsors and of course TMEC for allowing this event to take place. Thanks to Jamie, Zak, Alison And Wayne for helping out yesterday.

09.01.2022 What a Team. What this group achieved over the last 12 days is serious stuff. To finish it off with 200+ km MTB ride, then the port Davey and south coast track in 5 1/2 days (150km) In tough weather and knee deep muddy conditions is a credit to the resilience of all Participants. Thanks to TMEC and all sponsors. We hope that we will have a positive impact for Diabetes Tasmania with the funds raised.

09.01.2022 Community Walk - It would great to see, family, friends and event supporters at the top of Mt Montgomery tomorrow morning for a group photo. We aim to be there about 6.30 am. FYI it takes about 45 min to walk to the top. The picture attached indicates where to park.

08.01.2022 Signing off for now. We will be walking into the night to our new destination. Its been a tough day, long night ahead. Thanks everyone for you messages

03.01.2022 The TMEC, Tassie is Better With Balance Challenge course exploration is well underway. This years event will be held over 7 days (long days). More details to follow in the coming weeks. 10 participants and 4 very committed support crew will be pushed to their limits to raise awareness of the importance of mental and physical health and raise funds to support programs delivered by the Salvation Army Tasmania.

02.01.2022 It’s nice to wake up at home but what an awesome week it was. Couple more people to thank. The Phillips boys were a massive help scoping out some of the remote tracks on the East Coast and Dave Phillips for letting us base ourselves at his place for a couple days while we tackled the Freycinet area. Also to Mr and Mrs Stewart for allowing us to crash at their shacks up the lakes. Your generosity helped so much, we are truely grateful.

02.01.2022 One of the key messages of this event is Resilience and over coming obstacles. We are obviously disappointed that we couldnt get the overland track done but it was totally out of the question. No one going out today. WE have launched plan B which Will include as many kms as the overland track so its still GAME ON.

02.01.2022 Photos say a 1000 words. What an adventure.

02.01.2022 Bit of an insight to what lays ahead.

01.01.2022 Last Tuesday we were able to hand over the symbolic check of 20k to Diabetes Tasmania. Thanks to everyone that donated and spread the word over recent months. We will continue to post some great photos from time to time, hopefully these images may inspire us to continue to work towards a lifestyle with balance.

01.01.2022 What a great day. We are lucky enough to have Minister Guy Barnett on the ride with us today. We started paddling in snow on lake st Clair and we finally have some some 95km into the 210km mountain bike ride. All going strong.
