25.01.2022 "Prevention is better than cure." Sounds like such a cliché but in this case it couldn't be more true. Alot of pain and cost can be avoided by simply brushing twice a day, flossing at least once a day and visiting your dentist for your regular check-ups. Watch this for a brief explanation of how tooth decay occurs. Please call us on 03 6243 8171 to book an appointment for your next check-up. Tassie Smiles always welcomes New Patients.

22.01.2022 Now more than ever Australia needs to stand up and not buckle under the pressure of fear created by an over zealous media hunting for the next story or click bait link. Now is the time that Aussies need to support Australian small businesses and in that way help support their fellow Aussies in keeping their jobs. Now is the time Aussies need to be mindful, safe and caring. Thinking NOT only of themselves but of their neighbour. Whether it is taking that last pack of toilet ...rolls when you have enough, taking that last pack of pasta when you have enough, taking that last pack of mince meat when you have enough.... Think of others and treat them as you would want to be treated. It’s been said, Love your neighbour as you love yourself. Never before in modern history has this been more true. Let’s get through this together, not as a nation shattered by greed and selfishness. Let’s get this message out and pull together.

12.01.2022 The Food Labels Puzzle explained: 1. Look at the ingredients list. The closer to the top on the list, the more of that particular ingredient there is in the product! 2. When comparing ingredients, look at the column "per 100g". Sugar content of less than 5g per 100g is best, but less than 10g is okay.... 3. Be on the look out forhidden sugars. See the photos below for examples of the different names sugar can be given. Have a great weekend! TSD

11.01.2022 Sugar can be called over 50 different names, making it hard to detect on food and drink labels. Some of these names include sucrose, rice malt, palm sugar and maltodextrin. Dental Health Week is August 3-9, so why not pay attention to how much sugar is hiding in your shopping trolley.

11.01.2022 Nutrition is vital. Sugar content is everything. Be mindful of the amount of sugar you are consuming. As delicious as they are, lollies, chocies and fizzy drink are the worst for our oral health. Be sure you get enough fresh fruit & vegetables and drink enough water. Hey we are all human and indulge from time to time, if you do, be sure to drink lots of water afterwards to asist your mouth rebalance the acidity level. ...
