We feel really blessed that all our services can be delivered via Zoom, phone and email. Its amazing to see so many professionals reinve...nting themselves. Are you one of them? 15.01.2022 Yesterday, one of our clients said: "OMG, I cant believe this quarantine will be over soon and I still havent done what I KNOW I need to do for my migration objectives!" The thing is shes been so busy trying to make ends meet like so many people, and in all honesty, worrying about the future, that times just gone! We get it! So heres a checklist she created with some strategies we shared with her (and are now sharing with you): Make a TO DO LIST (Hers looks like this):... - Scan (in colour) Payslips and Tax Returns for years 2012-2018 - Find my Superannuation records for the same period - Draft my Employment Letters - Contact my previous employers to touch base, explain I am going through a Skills Assessment process, ask if they would be willing to sign a letter confirming details of my employment and explaining Ill be in touch soon. - Scan (in colour) my University Certificate and Transcripts (need to ask the University - do it asap) - Get a quote for translating all these documents (NAATI Certified Translations) and start asap. Organize a date and time to find, gather, scan and save these documents. Make a cup of coffee. Turn on some nice upbeat music. "Gathering and scanning docs is boring but investing in my future is not! I can have a glass of wine ONLY when I finish celebrating the future me!" Now, this sounds more exciting! Book my English Test (Tests are limited now. Booking makes you accountable! Its an incentive to start studying!) Dedicate 1.5 hours of my time 3x a week to study - Write it down in My Calendar! Set up an alarm. Put my phone in silent mode. This is non-negotiable! This storm will pass and how do you see yourself when things start to improve? We all HAVE A CHOICE during this time. CHOOSE to spend your time wisely.

11.01.2022 [Graphic Designers] This post is for you! We shared a big win in our stories last week so, as promised, here is the full story. Skills Assessment Applicant Profile: - Bachelor Degree in Industrial Design - Graduate Certificate in Design... - Nearly 4 years experience as a Graphic Designer NEGATIVE Skills Assessment by Vetasses - Reasons given in a nutshell: Qualification not highly relevant and not enough professional experience. Our Migration Agent wrote to Vetasses pointing out all the reasons we believed the outcome letter was incorrect. Then, we receive this reply I have discussed the case with my team leader and we are happy to issue your client with a free review which will be completed with priority. No further action is required from you, you will receive the outcome of the review application shortly. Within 48 hours we had a new POSITIVE outcome in our inbox. No reassessment fees charged. Why are we telling this story? Bear with us for a second and spare a thought for this applicant, who had a negative outcome for 2 weeks, then a surprising approval! Thats what we call an emotional roller coaster She has two completely different outcome letters from the same Assessing Authority considering the exact same documents. The migration journey is full of ups and downs and things can get really complex. Cases are assessed by human beings who might make mistakes. Theres a lot of subjectivity in these processes. Sometimes we have to fight And it feels really good to win In case youre wondering, her qualification in Industrial Design was then found highly relevant. If you were this applicant how would you feel? And how would you react? #australianvisa #immigration #graphicdesigner

09.01.2022 HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR ENGLISH TEST Even though IELTS and PTE Academic are the most popular English Tests for migration to Australia, The Department of Home Affairs accepts at least 5 different tests to establish your level of English. Bear in mind: Different people do well in different tests, you dont need to necessarily do what everyone is doing In times of Covid-19, if you need to sit an English test asap, check test availability before you start studying. Many te...st centres have very limited availability at the moment and you may not be able to book your test in time In most cases, your overall score is not what matters the most, but you should get your score in EACH of the four components: Listening, Speaking, Writing AND Reading Most of these tests offer FREE samples online. Do a free sample test. See how you go. Try another one. See how you go. Choose the one you feel most comfortable with. Stick to it. Use official websites. When someone tells you having Superior English (8 in each component in IELTS, or 79 in PTE, for instance) would open more doors for you - Whats your first reaction? FOOD FOR THOUGHT When someone tells you having Superior English (8 in each component in IELTS, or 79 in PTE, for instance) would open more doors for you - Whats your first reaction? - Never gonna happen! I might as well just aim for a 6 - Too much time and energy... if I study a little I think I can get a 7 - If many people get it, why wouldnt I? - Its just a matter of focus and practice, like anything else in life - I need a plan and I wont stop until I get it Which person are you? When will you start? For all tests accepted by Immigration and details on scores: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au//meeting/english-language/

Remember, what you may find difficult, others may find easy and vice versa. So, before believing your friend who did better in a different test, consider seeing it for yourself. So, heres a few things everyone should know about IELTS.... IELTS has been very flexible during Covid-19 and seems to have a lot more tests available than other providers. It may be your only or best shot at the moment. There are two versions of IELTS - Academic or General Training The only differences between IELTS Academic and General Training are: the topics in Reading (not the types of exercises) and Task 1 in the Writing Test. Listening and Speaking tests are the same for both Academic and General Training If you choose Academic Reading you can make more mistakes in the test and still get your score? 23/40 questions correct in General Training your Reading score will be 5 23/40 questions correct in Academic your score will be 6 That means a lot of people who have struggled to get their reading score in General Training, end up switching to Academic to do better, and it often works!
