15.01.2022 Transition to retirement ALERT The Federal Government’s has made changes to the transition to retirement (TTR) pension to take effect from 1 July 2017, those with existing arrangements should be aware of changes. Following the 2016 Federal Budget, commencing 1 July 2017, transition to retirement (TTR) pensions will no longer receive a tax-free status on the investment earnings of pension accounts. The investment earnings will 'now' be taxed at 15 per cent for both new and exi...sting TTR arrangements. Keep in mind the TTR yearly pension payment will basically remain tax free. For those who have been receiving a TTR pension, if they retire or change jobs after age 60 they may access their existing super because of intended retirement as pension converts to account based pension.
