11.01.2022 Thank you to our NSW members for your patience while we awaited confirmation on reopening details from the State Government - we have good news! NSW Clubs will ...be operating differently to other States due to the newly amended NSW Government COVID Safe Plan: - Club capacity is limited to allowing 4 square metres per person - for the majority of our NSW clubs this means we won't exceed this on the gym floor, as our facilities are large. Whereas ACT and QLD governments have stipulated limits of people per area in the gym, with no free flow between areas. Which is great news for NSW members as there will be no need to book sessions on the gym floor (this includes strength, weight machine and cardio areas). - However Bookings must be made for Group Fitness Classes only, which are capped at 20 people per class, or 1 person per 4 square metres. This means many classes will have 20 people capacity, but smaller studios will be less (such as cycle and Barre). All class sizes will be accurately reflected on the booking portal. - Lockers, Showers and Change Rooms will be open in NSW 24/7 access will be available in 24/7 Clubs in NSW. - Sessions on the gym floor are not limited - you can train as many times and for as long as you like. 04.01.2022 I remember around 10 years ago a "health professional" suggesting that I shouldn't lift heavy weights as it made me more prone to injury. I couldn't agree less. A strong body is the best insurance against injury. Also, muscle wastage over time (sarcopenia) is a significant marker of ageing. And this is inevitable unless you perform regular resistance exercise. I've been weight training on and off since I was 22 - heck I even competed in body-shaping comps for 3 years - and i...t's one of my true loves. So, alas, I will continue to train as long as possible. And keep setting new goals and working towards them. This gives me great joy and confidence. Any exercise is better than nothing (and a potent anti-depressant) but weights are best for a toned and young-looking physique, along with building and maintaining muscle. And if you're into macros, a protein intake of 1.8 to 2.2g per kilogram of weight is sufficient to build or maintain muscle. Happy lifting peeps. Use an experienced personal trainer if you need to learn how to lift weights with the correct technique.

03.01.2022 Well, what a day! Moved my Taylor-Made Nutrition clinic home for a while whilst I perform online consultations and ensure all my lovely clients have access to t...heir supplements. Herbal medicine has a unique and important role at this time, particularly in relation to immune and nervous system support. If you are one of my valued clients, I am still here supporting you. l will be communicating an update via email soon with info on how to access your supplements and online check-ins to ensure you stay focussed on your goals, particularly on the weight front. Be assured that I have plenty of stock and will make it easy for you to get your favourite supplements. If you need something, simply send me a message on Messenger with your order and I will arrange to get it to you. I believe that bare shelves at the supermarket can set off what is a very primal survival instinct. To see our food supply dwindle (or at least appear that way) is confronting and can lead to "stockpiling" the food AND kilos so try and reassure yourself that this is temporary and all will be well with your food supply. Keep calm and carry on with your eating plans as much as you can too, so you don't come out the other end with more work to do. One of the positives I've observed is my increased hesitancy to waste anything so I guess this will be a beneficial shift for our society. And hygiene standards will improve so our post-COVID world will be different and in many ways better as we come together as a community. In the meantime, be kind to each other, stay well, follow the guidelines we all know well now and call out if you need help. As you know, we're all in this together.
