25.01.2022 "There were ten thousand thousand fruit to touch, Cherish in hand, lift down, and not let fall. It's coming up for that time of the year again! Where the gardens around Hobart become heavy with fruit, most of which drop to the ground for the slugs. We are looking for a variety of fruit but especially interested in quince, lemons, blackberries and rosehips from properties that do not use pesticides or herbicides.... Happy to pay per kg or trade in our finished product. Waste Nothing! Send us a message if you want to be a part of Taz Urban Harvest!

22.01.2022 Hey yáll, anyone got any Blood Plums? I'm keen to get back in the kitchen ! :) I need a tree full or two. Happy to pay $2 / kg or swap for preserves

10.01.2022 Super excited to host a bushfood & foraging workshop at Kickstart Arts 10th Nov. https://www.kickstartarts.org/discover-bush-food-urban-fora Humans, by nature,... are hunter gatherers. We have become so disconnected with our food through daily life, seeking convenience over sustainability, flavour and health. Foraging is important because it helps us reconnect with our food, and land. You will receive an introduction to native and non-native ingredients, their flavour profiles and how to use them. We will discuss how to identify plants that you can forage that are currently in season and are available, and discuss sustainable foraging. Together we will cook two dishes using seasonal locally sourced ingredients and eat together. WHAT YOU'LL GET An opportunity to eat, drink and chat native foods! Printed recipes of each dish or drink created during the workshop A small collection of native herbs and spices to experiment with at home. You will learn vital life skills on how to identify and use edible food and harvest them sustainably.

09.01.2022 Already on it! Blackberries and rosehips are a staple in our products. Plus nettles are a seasonal favourite in the kitchen. Learn about making the most of seasonal weeds around #Hobart in our upcoming workshop at Kickstart Arts.

07.01.2022 And so the Urban Harvest begins... 100% of the quince we use in our products come from the backgardens around Tasmania that would have otherwise gone to waste. ...Our record harvest year got us 1.4 tonnes! If you are in the greater Hobart region and have excess quince or lemons that you are not going to use give us a shout and we'd happily trade you some of the products that use your quince. #urbanharvest #quince #quincepaste #forage #foodwaste #wastenotwantnot #hobartfood #tasmanianfood #supportlocal #tasurbanharvest #quinceparty #tassievore #eatlocal #eatwild Tasmania See more

05.01.2022 A tiny bit famous. He he! Thanks Dale Campisi. Couldn't get better coverage than this

04.01.2022 It's coming up for that time of year again! If you have quinces, lemons or crab apples (pesticide free!) that you are not going to use give us a shout and we will happily exchange $$ or some of our products for them!

04.01.2022 Hey urban farmers, we are still looking for quinces if you've got any spare??

01.01.2022 Our bowen spinach berries are looking vibrant! Juicy sweet salty nuggets of yumminess! Hardy coastal plant, the leaves and berries were used by early settlers to prevent scurvy. Delicious in a salad, cooked or munched straight off the plant!
