22.01.2022 Dear Competitor It is with sadness that we inform competitors, that the OCG is postponed until proposed July / Aug 2020 dates. The event will announce a confirm...ed date upon the government lifting restrictions on sporting events and gatherings. Where the government allows up to 500 people or more in a gathering indoors, the OCG will be unable to finalise dates until such measures are introduced by the government. As we are all aware, all sporting events and other gatherings are in a similar situation and we thank you for your patients and understanding through this time. The OCG fully commits to fulfilling its obligations to the competitors and will confirm dates upon announcements by the federal and state governments. ONE Championship newest signed MMA fighters.... - Courtney Martin the GAMMA Global Association of MMA World championships in Singapore 2019. Courtney from Perth, was chosen as the Best overall female fighter and rewarded with a One Championship $100,000 USD contract. - Muaina Manase the 2019 GAMMA world champion from Auckland, New Zealand was chosen as the Best overall Male fighter of The event and rewarded with a ONE Championship $100,000 USD contract. We are excited to announce that both signed and accepted the offer and you will be seeing them on the big stage very soon. GAMMA is a global MMA organization dedicated to the sport of MMA and awarding athletes true pathway. Next GAMMA event on the calendar is Oceania Combat Games in April Canberra Australia. 20.01.2022 So I’m just sat at the airport waiting for my plane at the end of a crazy week! Was so honoured to have to been asked to be part of the Australian Team in Sing...apore and coach a talented group of athletes at the MMA World Championships! I witnessed some amazing fights by some of the best from around the globe in the first World Championship of GAMMA / ONE Championship. Being part of so many countries coming together to compete was truely amazing . I was also able to help out and coach Team China as they were short of a coach due to visa problems and that was fun! This trip was even more exciting for me as I got to take one of my fighters across to compete in this massive event! Courtney started training with me 5 years ago with a one of her friends for fitness and then began competing only 18 months ago! Since then she’s had 13 fights and took out some of the best females in the country and now faced champions from around the world! Courtney had such a stand out performance with epic fights over in Singapore on this Championship event. She choked her first opponent unconscious via north south choke to take the win, she won her second via rear naked choke submission and then had an absolute war against the American Boxing champion and last years IMMAF World MMA Champion and took the decision win!!! Winning the World Title is an amazing feat in itself but due to her stand out performance she was also awarded the ONE Championship $100,000 contract!!! She will now face the best females from around the world and I couldn’t be prouder of her! Looking forward to the next challenge!!!!

19.01.2022 Update as at 1 September 2020 The Combat Sports Authority of NSW (the Authority) met on Wednesday 26 August 2020 to consider the current Orders made under the Public Health Act 2010, the NSW Health community sport recommendations and the letter to community sport organisations from the Chief Health Officer, NSW Health, dated 14 August 2020. The objects of the Combat Sports Act 2013 include to promote the health and safety of combat sport contestants and to regulate combat spo...rt contests on a harm minimisation basis. Consequently, the Authority must place the health and safety of all persons engaging in, and attending, combat sport contests as it highest priority. The Authority made the following determinations after considering all available information. The Authority will not consider applications for an amateur combat sport contest permit for at least a further five weeks consistent with NSW Health community sport recommendations. The Authority will not consider applications for a professional combat sport contest permit at this time. However, the Office of Sport is to identify for consideration by the Authority any options that may enable professional combat sport contests to be held in accordance with the Orders made under the Public Health Act 2010, the NSW Health recommendations and the objects of the Combat Sports Act 2013. The Authority is proceeding in this manner because it is required to, as much as it is prudent and necessary. The Authority intends to meet again during the second half of September 2020. GAMMA’s emergence as the authority on mixed martial arts stems from its commitment to developing and governing the sport from the grassroots. From 55 member federations in 2019, GAMMA has now seen that number rise to a total of 80 in 2020.
