24.01.2022 For this piece I was given pretty much total freedom, the only constraints were the colour palette and that it had to be a doublet style. We just couldn't pass up this luxurious velvet for the main fabric, the way light subtly catches on the quilted sides and peplum pieces is magnificent! Pairing it down with a simple cotton bias binding but upping the opulence with a pale gold and navy Celtic trim brings a balance to the overall look, as this OC isn't a prince but he's not ...a pauper either. 16.01.2022 Trying to find sparks of inspiration and motivation in the small things. Totally in love with this piece I was working on before the world went on lockdown. The capelet features a high front and low back which enables you to show off more kit at the front and when belted the back can be caught into this cute little peplum. It hides gorget and upper arm armour for sneaky points of protection and has a deep hood to hide your identity if you choose to live that mysterious life.... The hood itself has custom embroidery adorning the edge and is lined with a maroon felt to give it that structured and cosy feel. This maroon fabric has been floating around here for quite a while and this was the perfect use for it, the way it catches the light is and paired with the sturdy black cotton duck it makes for an easy change from battle to ballroom!

I’m still chipping away on all current commissions but unfortunately I can’t afford to get sick and therefore can’t have clients coming and going for fittings and appointments and if I am unfortunate enough to catch the virus from a client I wouldn’t want to pass it onto other clients either! If you have a commission in progress with me all work will continue as planned without you coming to here for now.
