21.01.2022 Beautiful rain. The water level is so high today it's crushed the wading pool.

20.01.2022 Dear Members Now I've had time to reflect what the recent Council vote means, I think the time has come for TEAM to stand aside. We have achieved all that we set out to do - save the remaining area for the wildlife. From now on it is up to Gold Coast City Council to fulfil the requirements of the vote and create a sustainable lake. With the money we raised last year we can either refund it to the individual donors or use it to buy the solar aerator to assist with water qu...ality when the South Lake is deepened. Please let me know your thoughts. I have enjoyed getting to know so many of you and sharing the passion we feel for the Lake. The coming year will not be easy because the remaining water will have to be pumped out so the lake can be deepened but we must keep in mind the End Result which should be a sustainable water body for the wildlife forever. If you want to stay actively involved please share your ideas positively with the the CEO at Council. I have found the Council officers to be approachable and always ready to listen and I will be following the progress with much interest. Thank you all sincerely. Lindy Donato, President.

14.01.2022 One Very Happy Saturday

11.01.2022 President’s Message. It's very much appreciated that people help and have concern for the welfare of the birds and animals by leaving appropriate foods like bird seeds, corn, leafy greens etc. but it is better for them if they can be encouraged to remain in the large water body over at the South lake. Every little bit of help and contribution for the benefit of the wildlife is greatly appreciated. Many more birds than usual are grouping together at the old HQ area, up at th...e Northern End of the Lake. In the North only a small plumbing channel remains and instead of being filled it was spared for one reason; TEAM asked the Turf Club to, for the sake of Hop-A-Long-George. This is a ‘temporary’ measure so George could have access to water in his limited habitat. A large variety of birds live down at the wide South Lake; but recently they have been seen more and more up in George’s small northern area because support feeding has been occurring there. Today I noticed whole flocks of Magpie Geese and Pacific Black Ducks in the small Northern Channel, but hardly any adult Swamp Hens. The Northern Channel will eventually be filled, for logistic reasons, so please help keep the birds and animals safe by feeding them at the South Lake as this will encourage them to stay out of harms way :)

10.01.2022 Sad for the Lake but the wildlife will be okay. Keep the faith all you TEAM members, just a little bit longer, everything is going to turn out alright in the end.
