25.01.2022 [ OUCH ] Dropped into our sponsor Chequered Flag Stables open day today and couldnt resist the chance to get Frankie up on the hoist to have a little look underneath. Wow is all we could say... lots of big scratches, dints and a nasty hole in the exhaust (which explains the beefed up sounds). ... Thankfully the bash plate did its job and Frankie held together to finish the Rally and get us safely back home! Definitely time for some TLC and rest for the old boy and plan some further protection for next years Autumn Rally!! #chequeredflagstables #teamproudy #thankgodforthebashplate #luckywekeptthetransmission #needsanewsumppan #poorboy #shitboxrally

25.01.2022 ~ SAVE THE DATE ~ Latest news in from Rally HQ on the new dates for (our postponed 2020) Shitbox Rally for Spring 2021. Well now be hitting the road from 9th - 15th October 2021.... The route will remain the same from MACKAY to DARWIN (via Savannah Way). While its over 12 months away , it allows time to beat Covid19, boarders to reopen and the all important fundraising to kick back into action!! Times have been tough for many, but if you can spare a few $$ for a very worthwhile cause, the Cancer Council and cancer research, please follow the link below https://2021spring.shitboxrally.com.au/proudy (All donations over $2 are tax deductible and Company Sponsorship on our Rally car is also available ) #shitboxrally #cancercouncil #teamproudy #inthistogether

25.01.2022 Having a beverage and early dinner before Shitbox Rally Pub night... will be great to catch up with some of our 2019 buddy group members too!! #3drinksbtw2ofus

24.01.2022 Well deserved recognition to James, founder of the Shitbox Rally, being awarded a OAM for his dedication and hard work raising funds for the Cancer Council over the past 11 years

23.01.2022 ... UPDATE ... Early last week we received an update from Rally HQ on the running of the Spring Shitbox Rally 2020 in light with the current Covid19 situation. Allowing for a minimum 3 month lead into the Spring Rally in October, to ensure the delivery of a well prepared rally to all rally teams and enough time to gather remaining fundraising. ... The final decision on whether the Rally would go ahead this year or not was based around many factors with a number of main points being: That all borders are open and that everyone can participate That we could gather in groups large enough for our rally group (over 500) That the rally route is clear and all stopovers are supportive of us rallying in 2020 (Burke Shire including Burketown and the Savannah Way up to NT border (our route) remains closed and is expected to be the last part of Australia to open) These points, together with the recent Victorian outbreak meaning the QLD border will remain closed to many teams from VIC & TAS, has therefore regrettably left Rally HQ with no choice but to postpone the Shitbox Rally Spring 2020 until 2021. Whilst this is extremely disappointing for all involved; given its the first time in 11 years that they havent run a rally; its the right thing to do. We await further information on the announcement of 2021 dates but know the route, start and finish lines (Mackay to Darwin) will remain the same. BUT SOME GOOD NEWS... given we reached the set fundraising amount in our We Give page by the assigned date, ensures we are amongst the teams who were automatically guaranteed acceptance into the 2021 Rally, with our 2020 fundraising carried over and counting towards our overall total. PLUS we now have over a year to continue working on our fundraising efforts in the aim to reach our minimum amount of $5,000 before we hit the dirt again in October 2021. If you would like to show your support for Team Proudys fundraising efforts for the Cancer Council, follow the link below to our fundraising page. All donations over $2 are tax deductible and Company Sponsorship on our Rally car is also available

22.01.2022 Over a week or so ago amongst the Covid19 crisis Box Rallies made the heartbreaking decision to postpone the May 2020 running of the Shitbox Rally. This decision was made in the best interest of the health and safety of all rally participants and remote communities we would have been travelling through. The Rally will be postponed to May 2021 instead and traveling the same route of Alice Springs to Gold Coast via the Gulf of Carpentaria. Whilst Team Proudy is unsure if we ...will be able to take part in the postponed May Rally in 2021, we can still look forward to some light at the end of this horrible tunnel in that we are part of the 2020 Spring Rally travelling from Mackay to Darwin via Savannah Way!! Well certainly be needing a change of scenery after these uncertain months... We pray everyone follows the restrictions to flatten the curve of this virus and hope a new sense of normality returns to the world soon!! Take care and look after yourselves and each other #stayhome #flattenthecurve #inthistogether #shitboxrally #rallyfamily #teamproudy

22.01.2022 - DAY 8: AUCTION, POST RALLY PARTY & AWARDS - Sat 26th October 2019 Today saw the Auction at Manheim Townsville for all the Shitboxes that werent brought back by their teams. The auction (+ team buy backs) itself made a total of $64,650.. well done everyone! Many cars purchased by fellow teams planning to use them to drive home or for future rallies and also by local wreckers or Manheim themself. ... Following the Auction teams headed to the Townsville Surf Club for the after party, this was a chance to celebrate reaching the finish line and to present the award. Winners were voted for by fellow ralliers and it was great to see a number of Buddy Group 11 teams voted into the top 5 for a number of categories. Massive effort considering 6 out of our 7 teams were first timers!! A huge thank you goes out to all of Team Proudy sponsors and supporters whom without their generosity we wouldnt have been able to take part in this incredible journey to begin with! Lastly, but certainly not least, weve said it before but a massive thank you to our fellow Buddy Group 11 teams for their continued support, encouragement, laughs and friendship along the way. Without each of you the Rally wouldnt have been the same! We cant wait to catch up with you to continue the good times!! (This was also the end of a year long growth for BG11 team Combovers, who could finally shave off their hair and beards (much to the delight of their wives ) #teamproudy #shitboxrally #cancercouncil #fundraising

21.01.2022 [ UPDATE ] With the events of 2020 really throwing a spanner in the works with drought, Bushfires and then Covid19, fundraising efforts really took a hit for Shitbox Rally participants (and many other organisations)... Rally Head Office has worked hard on a plan for the 2020 rallies; their potential to go ahead and what happens if they cannot. ... We have already made the hard decision to withdraw our planned participation in the May 2020 Rally (since postponed to 2021), so what this means for us for the October Rally is... First fundraising deadline reduced to $950 (min) by 26th June 2020 Rally HQ will make a final decision on 6th July as to whether the 2020 Rally goes ahead or is postponed to 2021 All teams over $950 raised by the 26th June 2020 will get guaranteed acceptance into 2021 Rally, if postponed If the Rally goes ahead in 2020, minimum fundraising amount will reduce from $5,000 to $4,000 If the Rally is postponed to 2021, all our 2020 fundraising efforts will carry over & count towards our overall total We understand a good number of people will be hurting due to Covid19. We get it!! Box Rallies runs large format events in the charity sector - events and charity have been hit very hard like a lot of other sectors. Team Proudy will do whatever is possible to secure our spot in the Rally, whether it runs in 2020 or 2021 and continue to help raise valuable funds to aid in much needed cancer research! We thank everyone for your ongoing support for not only Team Proudy but also Shitbox Rally and the Cancer Council. You can continue to show your support via https://2020spring.shitboxrally.com.au/proudy

21.01.2022 In a different life (before this Covid19 world we currently live in..) we should have just kicked off & departed Alice Springs for the May running of the Shitbox Rally. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we had to make the tough decision to withdraw from this Autumn rally, despite it postponing to 2021 HOWEVER, we were lucky enough to have also been selected to be apart of the second year running of the Spring Shitbox Rally Fingers crossed restriction...s ease and borders open to allow teams to travel the 3,342kms from MACKAY to DARWIN, via Savannah Way from 10th - 16th October 2020 as planned. Its now time to get serious and get the new fundraising efforts rolling in!! Raising much needed funds for the Cancer Council doesnt stop for anyone or anything, especially the Covid19!! Help us reach the start line by donating at https://2020spring.shitboxrally.com.au/proudy #teamproudy #shitboxrally #3342kmsin7days #cancercouncil #fundraising

20.01.2022 - DAY 5: BIRDSVILLE to JUNDAH - Wed 23rd October 2019 Video of the day...... Road train on our way to Windorah. Bit dusty

18.01.2022 - DAY 5: BIRDSVILLE to JUNDAH - Wed 23rd October 2019 Total of 466km Sealed = 201km Unsealed = 265km... After yesterdays early start and being 1st group out of camp, today we were afforded a sleep in as were to be in the tail end batch of groups to hit the road. With 2 of our buddy groups cars deciding not to start we ended up almost being the last buddy group to leave. Despite making up distance and moving through the ranks during the day, we were halted in our tracks during a rather hot almost 3 hour wait for fuel in the town of Windorah! Another fuel queue party anyone?? We were advised by Rally Support to divert the scheduled unsealed road and travel the last 86kms via the safer sealed road to ensure teams didnt arrive too late into the night. This would still result in hitting camp after dark for the first time and setting up via torch light and headlight. Tonights entertainment was Shitbox Got Talent, again the winning Buddy Group awarded being 1st group out the next morning. #teamproudy #shitboxrally #cancercouncil #fundraising

18.01.2022 - DAY 7: HUGHENDEN to TOWNSVILLE - Fri 25th October 2019 Total of 386km Sealed = 386km Unsealed = 0km... Sad morning with today marking our last day on the Rally. Will be easy going being back on sealed roads but no doubt many tired, sore heads after last night! Any teams who wanted to keep their cars had the opportunity to buy them back for $250 following this mornings briefing. Of course we kept ours as we planned to drive back home to Melbourne (& use him for any future rallies ) Noticed a bubble in one of our tyres this morning, a quick tyre change before leaving camp to be better safe than sorry for the journey to Townsville. This was the only (small) issue with Frankie, Team Proudys chariot, so very pleased with how well the car traveled. Finally got phone coverage when coming into Charters Towers after nothing all week. Thanks Vodafone #win Team Proudy led Buddy Group 11 out of camp today and into Townsville this afternoon. Emotions were definitely heightened coming into Townsville and crossing the finish line at the Showgrounds. James (Rally Organiser) was at the finish line shaking all rally participants hands as they crossed the line, thanking us all for our efforts over the past week. Great to see all the different ralliers families and friends turn up to greet everyone, many even traveling from interstate themselves. Celebratory hugs between the buddy groups for the fact wed all made it safely over the finish line, with all Buddy Group 11 cars making it in one piece. Depart ways to head to our individual hotels for much needed and overdue showers before meeting up for a Buddy Group 11 dinner at The Watermark Hotel. #teamproudy #shitboxrally #cancercouncil #fundraising

15.01.2022 - DAY 2: WENTWORTH to WHITE CLIFFS - Sun 20th October 2019 Total of 531km Sealed = 40km Unsealed = 491 km... After a night at Wentworth Showgrounds that can only be described as FREEZING, we headed off on day 2, our first day on the dirt! Tyre pressure was lowered to help with the rough roads ahead, nerves were tested for many of us (70% first time boxers) but we soon all got the hang of it. First Dress up Day sees us in Gilligans Island attire, sure is a sight to behold... Quick stop at the Pooncarie Hotel for a toilet and beverage break! Tonights entertainment was Sack in a Hole game, with the winning Buddy Group out 1st the next morning. After my dreadful attempt this certainly wasnt our Buddy Groups turn #teamproudy #shitboxrally #cancercouncil #fundraising

15.01.2022 PRE RALLY BRIEFING @ Crown Conference Hall Fri 18th October 2019 Flew home from Sydney after a work trip and headed straight to the Crown to attend the Spring 2019 Pre Rally Briefing. ... Certainly feeling real now meeting all our Buddy Group members (some who wed previously met and others were meeting for the first time). Picked up our welcome packs, team and sponsor stickers and then the briefing begins... announcement the Spring Rally is made up of 70% first timers!! Feeling overwhelmed but excited. Head home after the briefing to finish packing and try to get some much needed sleep before kick off tomorrow morning, although I think well be too excited to sleep #shitboxrally #teamproudy #buddygroup11 #cancercouncil #letsdothis

15.01.2022 EOFY fast approaching... Take advantage of the Tax Deductions while doing something good for the soul. Why not support a very worthy charity, Cancer Council, to aid in much needed cancer research while also supporting Team Proudy to make the start line for the Shitbox Rally and then claim it back in July!? ... All donations over $2 are tax deductible = Win Win!! Company Sponsorship on our rally car is also available Follow the link below to make your donations

13.01.2022 - DAY 4: NOCCUNDRA to BIRDSVILLE - Tue 22nd October 2019 Total of 660km Sealed = 205km Unsealed = 455km... Our 2nd dress up day with the theme of Op Shop Gender Swap, as you can imagine there were many interesting sights at breakfast and throughout the day! With a diversion in the route, adding an extra 60kms to the total distance would prove a test for the Ralliers with no fuel stations along the route until we arrived into Birdsville. Jerry cans would definitely come into play today! Today we should have been one of the last groups out of camp but as one of our buddy group members was the 4th highest fundraiser (Nugget) we were selected to be joined by James (Rally Organiser) for the day meaning we were then going to be 1st out. Wow what a day... it was probably one of the toughest days on the road so far. We were all pushed hard by James, with not much time to stop or look around. Think he was testing us and we certainly did our best to prove ourselves and keep up the fast pace of the day! 3 out of the 4 girls in our group were behind the wheel showing we werent just there for the scenery Crossed into the tip of SA border before heading back into QLD to finish at Birdsville. Our hardwork was rewarded by being the first Buddy Group into Birdsville, with around 1-2 hours ahead of the next group. This meant we could have the pick of the fuel bowsers, opportunity for photos in front of the famous Birdsville Hotel, enjoy a quiet drink (or two) at the bar with some unexpecting locals (Op Shop Gender Swap outfits remember ), first pick of camp spots and of course best of all - first dibs of the showers!! First shower for the whole Rally, was very much enjoyed. (This would then become the only shower of the Rally) A bit of car trouble today for our Buddy Group though; one team lost their oil cap, luckily locating it sitting on their bash plate - not before spitting oil everywhere under the bonnet mind you; one teams car dumping all the water out of the radiator due to a missing rubber off the cap and another car not starting but luckily it was a manual so nothing a push start couldnt fix!! #teamproudy #shitboxrally #cancercouncil #fundraising

07.01.2022 - DAY 1: MELBOURNE to WENTWORTH - Sat 19th October 2019 Total of 589 km (easy going for the 1st day with all sealed road) ... Teams assembled at Manheim Auctions Altona North still buzzing with all the excitement of our first Shitbox Rally and what lays ahead of us all. Our Buddy Group #11 consists of 7 cars; 3x Ford AUs, 2x Nissan Navaras, 1x Mitsubishi Van & 1x Daihatsu Photo opp at the Giant Murray Cod in Swan Hill before crossing the VIC border into NSW. P.S: Thanks again to our friends from the Jensen Car Club for coming out to see us off #teamproudy #shitboxrally #cancercouncil #fundraising #letsputaendtocancer

07.01.2022 ~ GOING BACK2BACK ~ This is a long time coming but were very excited to announce we were accepted into the Shitbox Rally Autumn 2020! We received the news last year when preparing for the Spring 2019 Rally and with that at the forefront of our minds we never got around to sharing the news, until now..... This route, Alice Springs to Gold Coast via The Gulf of Carpentaria, will certainly be a new challenge with word of around 11 river crossings to tackle on one day alone! Might need those floaties Now to get the new fundraising efforts underway!! #teamproudy #shitboxrally #3962kmin7days

06.01.2022 - DAY 3: WHITE CLIFFS to NOCCUNDRA - Mon 21st October 2019 Total of 486km Sealed = 5km Unsealed = 481km... No real car troubles for the buddy group today apart from a small bent rim for one but this was easily changed at a local service station. Fuel stop in Tibooburra, although soon turned into a beer & food stop at local The Family Hotel for a few hours Tried to recover some ground by ensuring we only made a quick photo stop when crossing the NSW border into QLD, which proved fruitful when we arrived into the very small town of Noccundra and joined the reasonably short line for fuel... With only 1 fuel bowser we waited our turn while chatting in the shade around the bar of our buddy group mates Tangled Rods and even enjoyed some of The Tea Partys special imported tea! They say fuel queue parties are a highlight and with the reported 3+ hour wait for the later cars, Im sure many found a number of ways to occupy their time. First and only time being stopped for a breathalyser (on the Rally) at the turn off for camp... Rolled into the local Racecourse to set up camp just as it was getting dark but it provided a beautiful sunset for us!! Great evening meal prepared by the Noccundra Hotel and Dogga Catering and tonights entertainment was Tyre Bowls. #teamproudy #shitboxrally #cancercouncil #fundraising

06.01.2022 - POST RALLY R & R in TOWNSVILLE - Sun 27th & Mon 28th October 2019 After a long week on the road and celebrating our achievement at the Post Rally Party yesterday, it was time for some R & R in Townsville and Magnetic Island before embarking on the journey back to Melbourne. ... #timetorest #breakfrombehindthewheel #teamproudy #shitboxrally

For as little as $10 per number; hell thats the price of a decent coffee + muffin and definitely cheaper than some smashed avocado on toast at a trendy cafe; you can go in the running to win ... 1st prize= $350 2nd prize= $150 whilst proceeds go towards cancer research!! Amazing right !?! Comment below or PM your number choice/s and well PM you payment details.

03.01.2022 - DAY 4: NOCCUNDRA to BIRDSVILLE - Tue 22nd October 2019 Videos of the day..... Nothing like a Road Train first thing in the morning #itsabigone

02.01.2022 - DAY 6: JUNDAH to HUGHENDEN - Thur 24th October 2019 Total of 592km Sealed = 269km Unsealed = 323km... Last day of unsealed roads today! Spirits feeling a bit low, perhaps with the realisation it was our 2nd last day of the Rally... This soon passed when all 550 Rally participants took part in a Rain Dance at morning briefing to help encourage the much need rain for the local areas affected by drought. (Happy to say a few days/week later it rained!!! Well take the credit for it ) Stopped in the town of Winton for a break from being behind the wheel and for some, a chance to stock up ahead of tonights Empty Your Esky Party back at camp. Bit late arriving into camp again and took awhile to pick a spot so another dark setup. Dinner tonight was provided by Diggers Entertainment Centre in town, so we had to either walk into town or take the shuttle bus... The later was definitely the better option, especially with the bus drivers entertainment along the way! She was definitely a character, trying to drift the bus around corners and get some air over the little hills! Haha Many laughs had around The Lagoon tonight (our Buddy Group mates Tangled Rods home made bar) and many ralliers busting their best moves around the Rally Boom Box #teamproudy #shitboxrally #cancercouncil #fundraising

02.01.2022 - DAY 6: JUNDAH to HUGHENDEN - Thur 24th October 2019 Video of the day...... A team being presented with their My car died on Shitbox Rally medals at this mornings briefing... not to forget a special appearance by one half of our Buddy Group 11 mates Tangled Rods offering a comforting hug as part of his own challenge to hug as many people as possible throughout the day

02.01.2022 Come say hi and show your support! All donations go to the Cancer Council.

02.01.2022 Thank you to all those who have kindly donated to not only Team Proudy but the Shitbox Rally in general. This is why we rally, to aid amazing research programs such as these in the aim to put a stop to Cancer for good. Thank you all so much!! Without you and your generosity this wouldnt be possible #shitboxrally #teamproudy #cancercouncil #fundraising #whywerally

01.01.2022 RALLY CAR DESIGN INSPIRATION Weve had many people, before and during the Rally, comment on the colour scheme of our car and how bright and good he looked. Months earlier I come across a design used for the Mercedes-AMG GT3 challenger in the 2019 Spa24h in conjunction with 320changesdirection calling for a change in mental health and knew this was the design I wanted. ... Coincidentally, we were kindly given some car wrap and weirdly enough they were the exact colours we needed.. guess it was meant to be!! Despite part of the team being a spray painter, we thought there was no better time for our first attempt at car wrapping...with a few little tweaks the end result wasnt too bad if we do say so ourselves #320changesdirection #changementalhealth #wrapheldupalright

01.01.2022 Thanks to the amazing Lisa West for coming through with the goods on our Rally signage!!
