22.01.2022 New guidelines for advertising and conducting activities in Northern Territory Government (NTG) road reserves Following extensive consultation with industry, ...the business sector and the community, NT Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics has released new Advertising and Activities in NTG Road Reserve Guidelines to manage where and how signs are displayed and how activities are safely conducted in NTG road reserves. Businesses and community members wanting to advertise or conduct an activity in a NTG road reserve will need to become familiar with the new rules. From 17 February 2020 a 12-month moratorium will be in place to allow time to remove or cease unauthorised activities, understand the guidelines, and apply for a permit where applicable. 05.01.2022 BUSHFIRES NT HEADQUARTERS CONSTRUCTION COMPLETE Construction of the new $6.6 million Bushfires NT headquarters in Acacia Hills is complete, with the buildi...ng now operational. The new headquarters supports 35 Bushfires NT staff and 350 volunteers, providing a centralised hub in Darwin’s rural area, improving accessibility and community safety. The project was delivered by local business C&R Constructions and includes: - an Incident Control Room and modern office accommodation - radio operations and meeting room facilities - a large vehicle bay and workshop - appliance and vehicle wash-down bays - quick fill capability for fire fighting vehicles - operational and support areas - solar panels and sectioned air conditioning to reduce - operational costs and greenhouse gas emissions. Bushfires NT staff have now relocated from Winnellie and Batchelor, making it easier to respond and manage future bushfire emergencies. For more information, visit www.dipl.nt.gov.au
