25.01.2022 Thanks to Harvey Norman for sponsoring last Sunday’s 2 person Ambrose. Another great day had by all.

25.01.2022 Sunday 17th May - Men’s golf results Near perfect conditions last Sunday ensured a good field of 30 players for the May monthly medal. With some relaxing of restrictions, groups were able to increase to 3 or 4 golfers, with everyone still very conscious of social distancing, hygiene practices and the one person per cart policy. All players seem so used to leaving the flag stick in to putt, it will probably become a permanent part of golf even when all restrictions are lifted.... The hottest player at Temora Golf Club at the moment, being dubbed the left handed Brookes Koepka, Luke Flakelar, made it back to back wins with a fine 74 off the stick for 69 nett and 38 points. Luke also adding the A grade monthly medal to his pool room. Another golfer in stellar form, Phil Lee, also carded 38 points and a 69 nett, but the count back saw him relegated to the runners up position. Phil took home the B grade monthly medal and judging by the downward trend of his handicap, he will be contesting the June monthly medal as an A grader. The ball competition in a tightly bunched field; Bob Miller, Col McCrone, Jules Drumore and Duncan McCrone on 37 points, Nathan Stimson and Mark Leary on 36 Points and Dallas Mckelvie snaring the last on 35 points. Although no nearest to the pins are being awarded at the moment, due to not being able to use the pins to measure, the cards revealed an unusually large amount of birdie twos across all the par 3s this week. The chatter around the place was of Bob Miller nearly holing out on the 16th for a tap in. Neville Elwin was inside 2 metres on the 7th but was still 1.5 metres further away than Mick Britton, who also nearly holed out, on what was a very difficult pin placement at 7. Dave Loftus, Nathan Stimson and Julian Drumore all knocked it inside 2 metres on the 12th and Daryl Jordan hit one very close on the difficult 3rd. This Sunday will be a four ball best ball, with the much anticipated resumption of the popular Temora Capital Chemist matchplay. The competition has reached the semi final stage, with 2 matches to be played. Aaron Coddington and Chris Young take on Michael Crawford and Nathan Stimson in the first match, with Peter Bray and David Harris coming up against Mick Britton and Kari Piilonen in the other match. The winner of each progressing to the final in a couple of weeks time. Finally a big shout out to Dave and his green keeping crew, Spanner and his crew, the mowing brigade, all the volunteers, in the words of a loooong time member, the place has never looked better. Thankyou to all. For all those who haven’t been out, dust the clubs off, come on out, throw some money in the tin and enjoy See more
